This bookcase can hold a lot of books and toys. I replaced two small totes that were holding the toys and books and got back a ton of floor space with this bookcase. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble with just a minute of help here and there from my husband. I had to use my own philips screwdriver to assemble. One of the pieces cracked while screwing in the screw (pictured). Most of the wood is 3/8" thick. The finished product stands 39" off the ground at the sides (the center is curved up and measures about 41.5" tall although when books are in there the can extend 2-3+" taller than that. It is 23 7/8" wide and 11 5/8" deep. The cabinet and shelf above that both are just under 11 inches tall. I like the doors but the hardware is plastic and I think I'll be replacing that soon with something sturdier. It is a great space saver, the colors are bright and design is cute, but I'm afraid of moving it while the books are still on it, even just a few inches because the wood itself was not the strongest during assembly. ... show more

This child’s bookshelf is just adorable. The painted images are well-done. They have that magical or fairy tale feel to them. I like that the shelf is sturdy and the right height for child. The assemblage is pretty easy, but you need to pay close attention. Each item has to be done in the correct order. It is easy to mess up and put on something backwards. I was surprised that the manufacturer provided no extra parts (most do). The plastic inserts can easily fall out while you are working and can get lost (especially if you have cats—then you have to hunt for part or head to hardware store). I like the hook-on back that allows for unit to be attached to wall (in case your kid is still in climbing stage). You do not have to worry about shelf falling on your little one. This bookshelf provides great storage for a kid’s room or playroom. I love that there is hidden storage as well. This is a sturdy, well-made bookshelf. The images are so cute. This is great for holding books (can hold quite a few of them) and toys. This bookshelf is a great addition to a child’s bedroom or playroom (encourages imagination). ... show more

Fantasy Fields Magic Garden Kids 3-Tier Wooden Bookshelf with Storage Drawer, Multicolor This bookcase is adorable - but a bit expensive at $120. Or if $120 - the wood and hardware should have been more sturdy. A fair price for this set would be closer to $100. It was pretty easy to put together but some of the instructions were not correct. I had to reverse a couple of the steps. The problem with this is that some of the parts are plastic and it's not really good to take this apart once you have put it together. So be sure you look at the pieces and how you believe they should go together and not what the instruction's say. I love the two cupboards on the bottom - great place to put stuff! My little one loves her new book case! I would recommend this bookcase - 4 Stars! ... show more

This wooden bookshelf cleans up a child's room without taking up too much space, while still adding to the decorative theme. The images are painted on and the overall look is of quality. The colors are light and have a childish "magical" feel, but it does not limit the decorative choices for the room. The shelf is not too tall for young ones and the back of the shelf has a strong plastic hook that is intended to be attached to the wall to prevent the shelf from falling if your child tries to climb it. Each section of the shelf is useful and has plenty of space for storage. The top portion fits many books without looking disheveled or disorganized. The middle shelf could be used for books or can store toy bins that are purchased separately. The bottom shelf provides hidden storage that does not need to be organized as it will not be seen, so we store dress up clothes and shoes in it that are easily assessed during playtime and cleanup. Setup is straightforward but you do need to ensure you follow the directions closely as it is very easy to get something backwards. There are no extra parts provided so you have to be sure you do not lose or misplace anything. The plastic inserts that are required can fall out so you will want to be careful. All in all, this is a fantastic shelf that matches well with a magical, princess or airy room theme. It has plenty of storage space that can be reached by little ones and has a safety feature to prevent accidental falling. Love the shelf although (I knew in advance) it is NOT easy to clean inside those top shelves. I knew it wouldn't be. Keep them dry and use a vacuum cleaner, then wipe with a cloth. THese shelves are really attractive. Even though they are definitely for girls, IN MY OPINION, they are very neutral. Our daughter doesn't have an entirely pink room-- it's mostly neutral beiges, etc. This adds a little splash of color, and I really like them. They are HEAVY but they are fairly easy to assemble. It took my husband about 20 minutes, maybe a little longer, but not much. The cabinet holds a few baskets of stuff and the top shelves are nice for some children's books. Really nice item. I'm super pleased. Great bookcase for young readers to keep their favorites in viewing sight. Or, if you rotate, this is a good idea for that. The theme is so cute and girly on this. The details are beautiful. My 4yo just loves it. The instructions were pretty decent and I didn't have any issues with following them.
