The media could not be loaded. The oem faceplate on my Series 2 developed a crack, so it was time too look for a replacement. I've purchased from extremerate before so I came to them again. Very happy with the fit, finish, and quality overall. Excellent replacement that really looks awesome as well. Being able to see the intricate internals of the controller is very cool. The kit comes with about everything you'd need, I just recommend using your own pry tool rather than the provided one as it seems pretty fragile. Feels good in the hand, looks good, is a cost effective upgrade or replacement, and dkesn't hinder the functionality of the controller, fit and fitment are spot on in my case. The faceplate fits the Elite II controller perfectly. It has no rubber grip but that's not an issue, it just means there's nothing to peel up and the back half of the shell still has its grip. The original faceplate peels along the narrow grip section that leads up to the bumpers and creates weak points that break because the plastic is thinner under there. Feels like a new controller. The media could not be loaded. The tool that they sent with it is completely useless. it broke almost immediately while trying to open up my controller. I ended up using some guitar pics to open it. Highly recommend getting a tool kit for this sort of thing before purchasing. Other than that, it turned out great. The ABS plastic is high-quality and goes really well with the black accents of the buttons and joysticks. I honestly prefer the feeling of the ABS plastic far better than the stock shell. It feels more sturdy and slightly textured like the old-school Xbox controllers. It fits perfectly and looks stock with the rest of the controller. The joysticks and buttons aren’t affected at all by the change and are still fully articulate and comfortable to press. In conclusion, I love the modification and it was a complete upgrade to the controller, Making it feel completely unique and custom. Highly recommended. ... show more

I'm a sucker for transparent electronics and these is no exception. The shade of green gives that OG Xbox vibe and the silver screws inside pop nicely under the faceplate. It looks great and feels quality in the hand, with just the right amount of texture, despite being smooth plastic (it has a matte or frosted feel that is a little bit slippery, as opposed to the tacky feel of glossy plastic.) The hardest part of installation is getting the stock faceplate off. Once you do that I recommend just removing the adhesive so any future repairs or modifications will go much easier. Thanks to the design of the elite series 2 controller, there are no screws to hassle with, simply pry off your original cover and snap this one in place. I used a blue elite controller which, to me, makes the plate look even better. There are a few pieces that need to be attached first, but nothing that requires tools. Just look at the original plate and you can see how everything goes into place. I would recommend watching a YouTube video just to see how to take off the cover, If you don’t want to damage it. The faceplate also comes with black guard rings for the thumb sticks but I chose to use the original blue ones that were on the controller plate. Overall the controller looks great and the plastic doesn’t feel cheap. It’s a great piece to give your controller a different look. ... show more

    • The tool it comes with is useless without others

The tool it came with to get the front shell off was useless by itself, so I ordered a took kit to help out. The quality of the faceplate itself is about what you would expect, I wish it were slightly textured to feel like a GameBoy Color, but it looks nice and feels super smooth. IMO the front grip and rubberized shell of the regular elite controllers are kinda pointless, I'd rather have it feel like a regular controller anywhere except the rubber grips on the handles. One more thought about the fit of the shell. It snaps in place nicely, but it does protrude out a bit by the guide, start, and select buttons (what did MS rename them to? Menu and something else?) and you can feel it moving, but it doesn't impact the ability to push any buttons. Would I like it to feel a bit better? Yeah. I'm not complaining too much though, I just wish more aftermarket parts would be as high quality as replacement GBC shells. One star off because of the low quality included tool, one star off because the mold isn't perfectly flush in the center where it needs to be. I'd probably buy from this manufacturer/seller again, now that I know exactly what to expect. ... show more
