Smooth, soft. Came out of dryer virtually wrinkle free (although I did not allow them to stay in long). Purchased to use over two XL twin adjustable mattresses plus a 2-3 inch topper. Fit great with some room to spare!!!! Praise God. Mattress and topper measure 16-17 inches but the 18 inch sheets won't stary on long. With these plus the added elastic straps should be perfect! Pockets on the sides of the sheets are actually in the correct place. A nice added bonus I must say. If these sheets don't pill.... I will come back to give them one off very rare 5 star reviews.
