I had to go onto her website to order this CD without any of her new and improved language skills. I'm just disappointed and disgusted. With the album cleaned up it's fairly good. She could have left the nasty language out in the first place. It didn't need to be there and didn't do anything to help the album. Without it it's worth listening to and worth paying for it. I loved Folklore (clean version) and have everything she's ever done. Her writing has always impressed me. But I did not like that she turned herself into everybody else out there these days who don't have a proper vocabulary and stick in a bunch of dirty language instead of well thought out words like she always has in the past. I guess she wanted to be one of the "indie" artists that Jake preferred over her songs so badly that she lowered herself to their level. If this is her new trend she's lost a fan. ... show more

    • Solid followup/companion to Folklore
Simple: Not a strong as Folklore (which is extraordinarily strong) from beginning to end, but a great companion. Detail: Folklore is an iconic album. It is a 5 star masterpiece much like Revolver, Kid A, London Calling, Thriller, Joshua Tree, Pet Sounds, and Born to Run etc. Those albums all capture the nature of the time they were written. Folklore captures a contemplative, lonely, introspective mood of the covid19 era. Because of the very nature of Evermore's release time, it can only be secondary to Folklore in that Folklore already existed. Evermore is a songwriter album much like Folklore. It gets 5 stars from me but I wouldn't call it a 5 star classic masterpiece. Evermore has phenomenal stand out tracks (champagne problems, gold rush, tis the damn season, happiness, Coney Island, Marjorie) like Folklore but comes with a few stand alone songs that seem out of place (no body, no crime, long story short). I wouldn't say Taylor Swift is even in my top 20 favorite artists list. As I age, I am starting to feel what is my personal preference might be separate from who I respect. Taylor Swift's songwriting has always been strong but I think her last 3 album efforts are starting to bring her into my mind when I think of other aged greats like Bruce, Bob, Joni, and Elton/Bernie. Those greats are all at or near the finish line of their career. Taylor Swift isn't even up the hill yet. Take a listen to "tolerate it" then listen to Joni's "Case of You". Is it really so different? I worry many 21st centuryers don't appreciate what is there while it is here. ... show more

    • Does Music Justice To The Continuation of Folklore
This Evermore Collection by Taylor Swift is perfect to listen to if you have also previously enjoyed her folklore music collection. However Evermore is also a good music collection to listen to even if you are new to listening to Taylor Swift’s music because of the elements of indie dance, indie rock, chillout music, and folk rock mixed in. I am fortunate to have had the chance to purchase each of her music collections since Speak Now still I have yet to determine which of the songs I enjoy the most on her collection. However for music listeners who are new to Taylor Swift’s music and still on the fence about purchasing Evermore I would recommend listening to the following songs from her Folklore album to help determine if you might enjoy Evermore because these songs have some of the similar energies that bridge evermore in a creative way: cardigan, exile (feat.     • What's a fan of her country music when those albums came out. Pleasantly surprised.
This album and all of her other ones that I thought would not be good because she left the country music scene and went into actually a genre all her own but listening to them I really do like them they're all wonderful so I won't write anymore reviews on Taylor Swift I have everything she has put out Country or I guess alternative rock or whatever the genre would be called. ... show more

I will admit that I am a huge fan of Taylor Swift. Just seems that all her albums seem to match up with my life. (well, from Red and on anyway). Folklore and Evermore are amazing. I feel like she got a hold of my diary from the past 5 years and wrote these songs. It took Evermore a little bit to grow on me but it certainly did. Especially Champagne Problems, Ivy and Evermore. I loved No Body, No Crime but that didn't come from my diary. It's TIme To Go hit me hard too. I can't listen to Marjorie though...Reminds me of losing my dad and I bawl my pretty little eyes out every single time. I would highly suggest this album along with Folklore. ... show more

This is by far the coolest TS cd I’ve ever bought. It came with 3 postcards, a small calendar that goes from Jan 2021 - March 2022, and some extra tracks special to the Japanese edition. A little expensive at $48, but overall worth it for the extras!

    • Two back to back comforting quarantine albums
I don't know if Evermore and Folklore would have hit this hard in a different year without a pandemic. But when you're forced to spend a huge amount of time by yourself, these albums are exactly what you want to fall into. Comforting, cathartic, sad, quiet, introspective. Evermore is definitely a continuation of Folklore and not by any means the "b-sides." It doesn’t have as many standout tracks though. “Tolerate It” is my current favorite, but I also absolutely LOVE that she finally did a collab with the Haim sisters. If you loved Folklore, you'll love Evermore too. ... show more
