  • Great product if you know the tricks! READ!!
Color: Gray Brown
I don't often write reviews on Amazon, but this one has a lot of specifics to get it work the best it can. KEEP READING FOR TIPS ON SUCCESS. I am naturally blonde and have sparse brows that don't have much in the way of a shaped "tail"....as just a smattering of random hairs. So although I tint my brow hair, I also need something to color the skin to make it look like an actual shape. Microblading & tattooing are a no-go for me because I haven't seen any colors done that look natural for a cool blonde (they all look red, or are too dark for a blonde). I also don't follow the natural shape of my brows...I prefer to draw the arch & tail a bit higher & more dramatic, and don't necessarily want to tattoo that shape onto my face. SO. This product gives me just about everything I could hope for! Here are the steps for how I found it works the best: Step 1- Exfoliate! Skin on the face regenerates quickly, which is why the stain fades quickly. If you are applying the product on layers of built up skin cells, you won't get as good a stain and then it will just slough off and fade. Step 2- Apply the gel on dry skin with an angled brow brush. The applicator brush on the wand is only good for building a thick layer of product, but not for creating a detailed shape. Start with an outline and fill it in. Use water on the angled brush to thin out the gel toward the inner corners of your brows to soften the intensity of the stain. This will prevent dark, blocky looking angrybrows. Step 3- Once the shape is how you want, apply a good thick layer of gel. This will ensure a good stain and also make it easier to remove later. Again, thinning out the product toward the nose. You can see in the photo of it applied (photo #1) that it creates a soft gradient. Step 4- Leave it on for a minimum of 2 hours if you have drier skin, and basically as long as possible if you have oilier skin. I'm oily and will get on OK stain after 2 hours, but it fades more quickly. I basically put it on while I'm at home and then forget about it. You can even leave it on overnight, but then you risk it getting peeled off while sleeping so I don't recommend that. Step 5- Remove the gel gently by lifting the end and peeling slowly. It may break or leave a little residue or a little glob or two on a hair...it doesn't matter just get the main goop off. Then take a spoolie brush and gently remove any excess product left. THIS PART IS IMPORTANT---> *** DO NOT IMMEDIATELY WASH THE AREA*** If you do, it will turn reddish. AGAIN!! DO. NOT. IMMEDIATELY. WASH. AFTER. REMOVAL. leave it alone! The photo in my review of the 2 swatches on my hand (photo #4) shows the difference between washing right after removal (top) and NOT washing right after removal (bottom). It will change the color. The pigment still needs time to settle. Step 6- For longevity, don't wash with harsh cleansers, scrub, or exfoliate over the brows. This product only lasts for so long. It's not going to stay dark. Especially not on more oily skin types. **This is just my own experience with the product and YMMV.** Photos: #1- Product applied. #2- product peeled off after 2 hours and left overnight. #3- after first wash. #4- with brow powder to define & rest of makeup. #4- top swatch was washed immediately after removal. Bottom was removed and not washed right away. I use this color #3 grey brown about 2-3x a week. I apply the gel on a clean face while at home and leave it on until I go to bed. I peel off the gel and use a micellar cleanser on a cotton round to cleanse **avoiding the brows** and go to bed. Next day I'll wash with a gentle cream cleanser and it will remove some of the excess pigment. I get 2-3 days of wear from this product. I'm not using it with the expectation that I can just wake up and go and not have to do a single thing to my brows. It fades quickly, I won't lie. But for me all I need is the general shape to see when I go in with my brow pencil or powder. This product makes it so I'm not starting my eyebrows over from scratch every single day and taking a million years in the morning to do them. I can see the shape of the stain well enough for a few days to easily detail them in and get on with the rest of my makeup. It's the best thing I've found so far! If you've read to the end of this, I hope it helps! I bought this product with my own money and was not part of any promotion! ... show more

  • I'll keep trying..
Color: Gray Brown
I have a complicated history with my brows. I have PCOS and thyroid issues which caused my brows to be pretty sparse. I already had shorter brows to begin with so losing hair just made it that much worse. I've had my brows tattooed and microbladed but the results left much to be desired. Needless to say, I've been on the hunt for a good product that can help me cut down my time getting ready in the morning. Additionally, we're going on vacation next week and we'll be spending time in the ocean so I thought this would be the perfect time to try this out! I did a trial run and left it on a little over 2hrs. Since I followed the application instructions, it didn't hurt to peel off and it didn't remove any hairs. Initially, I was pleased with the results but then I noticed it was starting to fade a little in some areas even though I didn't touch them or sweat/apply any water. The next day, they were much more faded so I applied another layer and left it on for longer this time. The color was much darker but nothing too exaggerated. This time, it didn't fade as fast but it still didn't last even 24hrs. Although I'm not currently impressed, I still want to give this a fair chance so I will keep trying. My next attempt will be leaving it on overnight (hopefully it doesn't peel off!) and seeing if there is any change in the lasting power. I will update with the results. ... show more

  • 4 months later + tips to apply
Color: Gray Brown
I've had this product in #3 (Grey Brown) for about 4 months now. Haven't experienced any discoloration using my particular shade. I'm a fan and will be repurchasing after my bottle is done. The brush is a rectangle shape, which I find odd because it's not the greatest for drawing on brows. I recommend using an angled brush for cleaner lines. The peel is satisfying but there is a small learning curve to find the best amount of product for you. It doesn't hurt to peel off and you should not be ripping off hairs. It feels almost like a jelly mask that you can roll off to reveal the stained results. Found it's easiest to pull from the tail moving towards the middle of your face. I keep the product on for about 1.5-2 hiurs and the stain will last about 3 days before fading is noticeable. This is with 2x daily face washing. I'm sure if you keep it on overnight, the staining power will last longer. Your brows may look really dark if you do that so test it to see what your prefered darkness is. Tips for applying: 1. Use an angled eyeliner/eyebrow brush for more precision. I used a $3 Elf angled brush and it does the trick. My edges and tail are sharp and clean. 3. Thicker consistency makes for a better (and satisfying) peel. It may stick to your eyebrow hair or get peeled off in little balls if you only apply a thin layer. If you have long eyebrow hair like me, make sure to "press" the product so it touches the hair and the skin. You dont want to just coat the hair, the product has to touch the skin for it to stain. 2. Clean up with a Q-tip as you go. 3. You have time so don't rush. While this product does dry fast, you have time before the stain power kicks in. If it dried already and has left a stain, try using a wet Q-tip to gently rub it off. 4. Work in small sections if you are new to this. It will help you get the shape you want without rushing to wip away excess/mistakes before it starts to stain. If you are truly new and scared to start, begin in the midde where you don't have to worry about the shape much. Slather it on and work outwards. 5. To get a more natural and softer beginning of the brow and darker tail look, wipe away the product at the beginning of the brow (1/4 or 1/5 of your brow) about halfway through the allocated time. Leave the rest of the product on the brow. Remember, the longer the product staus the longer it stain and possible darker it will be. Hope this helps! ... show more
