I normally use the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Pat McGrath lip glosses, and I wanted to see if I could find a more affordable alternative in K-Beauty. I liked this (Etude Fixing Tint in Dusty Beige) more than the rom&nd glasting and juicy tints. The Etude Fixing tint has a more comfortable hydrating texture than the rom&nd products, but is less hydrating than the Nars/PMG products. It is quite light, has no taste, and is not sticky. At the price point, it does the job, but honestly, I think I will just wait for PMG/Nars sales, for the same price you can get much more beautiful products. Colors - I find you have to be careful about ordering online, because the KBeauty brands don't do a very good job of describing the shades. The Etude Dusty Beige is really a Dusted Rose, it is more pink than neutral. In this case, this was fine, because I have a fair/light-neutral skin tone, and prefer neutral or cool toned lip colors. However, I also purchased the rom&nd Glasting Water Tint in Rose Splash, which looked like a medium rose in all the photos, but in reality it's more of an orange-undertone strawberry color. ... show more

Pattern Name: #10 Smoky Cherry
This lipstick was exactly what I was looking for as far as color and staying power. However, I have very sensitive skin and lips and this caused me to break out on the outer edges of my lips. This happens to me with nearly every lipstick, so it wasn’t a surprise and I can’t fault the lipstick itself. Putting that aside, the smoky cherry color is vibrant, but not too bright. I have fair skin and it complemented my skin color well. It is a matte lipstick, so dried without any shine, as expected. After using one coat of lipstick, I added my normal lip balm on top and the color didn’t come off too much. The color lasted at least a few hours, but did slightly fade in that time. I found it easy to remove with soap and water. The next day is when I noticed the tiny white heads and redness on the edges of my lips. Again, this is normal for me so it’s not something specific to this product. This can definitely be layered for a more dramatic/bold color. ... show more

I didn't see any pictures with swatches of Salmon Brick so ill do the favor of providing them for others~ It's soooo pretty to me!!! Once applied on my lips it definitely looks more rosy rather than the darker peach present on the swatch (and i actually really like that, though it may be misguiding for some). Hand/ arm swatches are never the same as when applied on the lips. I will also note it has an amazinggg smooth texture, no weird smell, and how lightweight this product is. I can't even feel it. AND its 100% non-transferable once it dries, long lasting (it's lasted almost all day! It doesnt fade while drinking but does fade just a bit when eating so I'd reapply if anything). The slighttt problem i have with it is that the matteness does make my lips look wrinkley after wearing it for so long, so prepare to moisturize your lips if need be. But the pros outweigh the cons for me and this is certainly a great dailywear color imo. Its pretty close to my natural lip shade and i will add that im only wearing the slightest amount of product on my lips in the 2nd picture ( concentrating the pigment on the inner center on my lips and blending outwards ). It is a little weird that it's glossy and yet doesn't leave a mark on your tissue once it's set. Sadly it just doesn't last. But it will for an hour or so. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.     • Dry feeling but great color payoff!
Pattern Name: #13 Melange Rose
So I used this for a bride I currently worked on because she was looking for something with more natural color and it was well worth it! I did some research on the fixing tints (as well as practice using them myself) and really enjoyed the consistency. The water based part I actually really liked, the tricky part is making sure your lips are moisturized without it being an oil-based balm you use underneath or a lip treatment from the night before. It's very drying but that's mainly to be concerned about for the next day. It reminds me of the color pop blotted lips, which I LOVED. Also very drying but made the lips look like a powdered blur, which was incredible. But color pop is moving on from the blotted liquid lip phase, so I needed another option. This is a great option and would recommend! It's great for brides (but color strongly stays for 4-6 hours, after that it's more like a beautiful fade tint.) Brides/anyone kissing often will need lip colors that stay, this is one of those great options. Pros: Stays strong for 4-6 hours (faded tint sometimes last till next day) More Natural looking Similar to colorpop blotted lip Waterbased/Non-streaky-for the most part Less weird feeling (than other lipstick brands) Great fade (no weird line deadskin buildup line that I noticed) Can build up or be more natural looking Cons: Light tint stays sometimes till next day Pretty drying, will need lip balm next day (or easy overnight lip treatment) Stays strong for only 4-6 hours Waterbased-must drink with a straw for best results, and light eating more recommended. ... show more
