This product is a true lip oil. I would not call the color I had a gloss in the same way I would a lot of lip oils on the market right now. This has an oily slip to it, which is exactly what I want. The color is lovely, a deep cool toned red rather than a true plum, but this is a better fit for me. The photos show 1 layer, 2 layers, and blotted after about an hour of wear. It is buildable, but I find that it starts to gather at the edges of my lips if i use too much, so I prefer 1 sheer layer that I blend out with my finger. Layering this over a red lip stain is one of my favorite ways to wear it. No scent, fairly moisturizing. I don’t feel like it noticeably accentuates my dry lips either! This is a great lip oil. I don't like lip gloss but this one made me fall in love. It's shiny and best part is it's not sticky or tacky. Smooth and shiny. No smell to it. I got the lighter color so the tint is more subtle because I put it over my other tint lipstick to give more shiny look. Only down side is that it doesn't last long. Shine will fade out in 2 hours but it doesn't dry out your lips. It is small so if you use a lot through out the day, you'll probably run out of it fast in a few weeks. ... show more

I happen to really like this. A LOT. There is a nice hydrating feel to it, with a pop of color (Real Cherry) that is just really pretty to me. Keep in mind that it is a gloss first and foremost, so the coloring may not last long. But it sure deposits some color that lingers! Great coverage, buildable, and I find that it stays in place. Of course it all comes down to preference and such. There is a really negative review, which is fine, we all have our own experiences.. but dont let that take away from all the positive reviews. Whether people bought it (like me) or tried it for "free" (no incentive to give good reviews in my experience), some of us will really like it, and some wont. My skin: fair, cool toned, 40 something. Real Cherry is very red, blue based for cool skin tones. Little more red than I am used to but I really like it. What I REALLY Like it for is for use ON TOP of "water tint" lip products which deposit long lasting tint, but can feel drying. I actually bought this for use on top of that. But I also like this used alone. I do notice that it will wear away at the center like a lipstick does. So it may need to be applied more often if going to be out and about. I definitely recommend their suggestion to apply 2-3 times. I blot a little in between to help get that color in place. Would be pretty over lip liner too. ... show more

The gloss looks good and feels good but it's pretty average. Not much color, I don't think it really adds moisture and it doesn't last. Unfortunately my tube started leaking so now I can't really use it. I have to keep it upright or else the gloss gets everywhere. I really wanted to love this.

I've been a long time user of Etude House products and was super excited to try this product when it was released. I received the plum berry shade (#2) that looks more like a deep pink (instead of red like what the swatches show) shade in person. I really love their tints, but found the tint strength and lasting power to be weak causing me to regularly reapply it every few hours. The color is visible though regardless of the lasting power. However, it is super moisturizing and doesn't have a sticky or uncomfortable thick consistency. This easily glided over my lips and was super comfortable to wear throughout the day. The smell is very light and not overpowering for those who have an issue with fragrance. Overall, it's a great lip oil for those who are on a budget, but want great quality! I'm hoping they expand the shade range that is suitable for those with different undertones. ... show more

I ordered this because of the good reviews saying it had good color and was not sticky. Maybe if you have young smooth lips, it has good color coverage, and I guess stickiness is subjective. On my 67-year-old lips the color settled into the lines in my lips and gave my lips a vertical stripped look, accentuating the creases horrible. It also stayed very sticky, which I find annoying. I initiated a refund, scanned the code, and packaged the lip oil for return. The return needed to be made at a Staples 5 minuets from my house. Two days later I got a replacement of the lip oil, so I went into orders and stated that it was sent by mistake. The return code to send this one that they sent by mistake was for the UPS store that is in a town 25 minuets away, which sucks, but I did it. Now both have been returned and I have not been issued a refund. Lousy product, really lousy service. Buyer beware. ... show more
