I'm wearing the coat and pants at this very moment in a Blue Ridge Mountain storm on a lake where I operate a barge and property management company. The barge work is heavy duty, in constant contact with steel cables, grease and heavy equipment, wind blowing sideways and cold snow occasionally. This gear stands up to the abuse and keeps me warm and dry. The built in knee pads are a big bonus and the hood is awesome, almost too big when you're not using it,, but very sheltering when I need it which is often here, probably works over a helmet also. I go through gear quickly with this work so I always bought the cheap stuff, but I'm glad i spent a little more this time. I am 6'3" 200lbs and the large in both fits perfect if it helps you. ... show more

    • Thumb loops restrict reach, dig into thumb

I'm 6'4" and bought 3XL, fit is perfect except for the spandex thumb loops. My arms are average for my height and if you loop your thumb and reach you'll be restricted and get hard and tight pressure on your thumb joint, arresting the thumb and causing discomfort. It's such a great piece of gear otherwise, it's just a shame that for "active wear" (and you will need to stay active if you're in actual cold weather -10 or lower) that this restriction is an unexpected bummer. Not returning it, the jacket is that good but let's hope the next generation of this great product increases reach on those spandex loops. Everything else is 5 stars but gotta deduct one for that. ... show more

I have abused this every day, this winter, and still holding up. very comparable to the Carhartt I used to love- till they quit making it! standing around comfort- 10-15*f.working comfort - below 0*f. cons -2 more buttons on the front for quick use times.

This is a 5 star jacket. This jacket is awesome. The cuffs, the pockets, the hood, the pit zips the entire thing puts the carhartt to shame. I’m unfortunately still looking for something to replace my carhartt Yukon extreme from a few year back that is ripped up but still awesome because the small ergodyne is just too darn big for me. I’m 5’9 - 170lbs and I’m swimming in this thing. With both drawstrings tight I still look ridiculous. I’m very bummed and might keep it anyway but I’m going to have to drink on it tonight. ... show more

Wouldn't ever buy a different cold weather work jacket again. Built tough and extremely warm. Paired with the bibs a perfect match. Highly recommend for working in extreme cold environments. The cold weather gloves are also amazingly warm.
