I never write reviews but read all the reviews and was shocked. Honestly I didn’t even know what was in the bandanna. I just wanted a bandanna to cover enough of my forehead to stop sweat dripping down my face because I work in a pizzeria kitchen. My post is in the middle of a deep fryer, 6 hole gas stove top (that has a consistent flame going boiling pasta water), and of course a pizza oven. Yes, it is insanely hot. Whatever you are imagining, multiply that by at least 6.3 - level hot. It is just plain stupid hot so.... I SWEAT. A LOT. NON STOP. Top of my forehead dripping down my face off my chin. I already add salt to the food and don’t want the food to be saltier than I made so I try not to sweat on my food. LOL. No, of course I do not sweat in my food, ever. Originally I had a towel and I would grab it to wipe my face but eventually it’ll be rush hour and I won’t even have time to reach for the towel or I become to focused and don’t even realize the sweat is running down my face. I’ve had times where I tried to do a Mission Impossible- Tom Cruise move but man, that is just a movie! If I could, I would though!! Haha. So I wanted a small and skinny bandanna I can wear under my hat and found this little item. It looks perfect. I bought the skull, camo, and flames because those are the cool people patterns you know? My first day with the skull. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Maybe because the title says “cooling” I felt like it was cooling me down a little. Maybe the adrenaline rush from the skull design imagining myself to look hardcore and cool made me feel like that also. 11 hour shift, no more reaching for a towel to wipe my sweat. No more Mission Impossible- Tom Cruise moments (I’m kind of sad about this one honestly). The bandanna was drenched in sweat. Come home want to look hardcore and cool again tomorrow so I throw it in the washing machine. Ultra clean please! Here it goes - why in the world has my bandanna become a snake!?? Apparently my bandanna was well packed with that polymer stuff. I don’t know what to do. Came back here to read reviews. NOW I UNDERSTAND. Okay, so here is my piece. Why am I writing this incredibly long and ridiculous review? Dude, man, miss, mister, ma’am, sir!! YOU PAID $2.19 for this piece of clothe with whatever amount of polymer. If you expected it to be something so perfect, I’m sorry but get out into the real world more please. Sure, it would be absolutely amazing and way awesome and too great and all the nice and pretty words you can think of but this item is a $2.19 piece of cloth with whatever polymer is. It already feels like polymer would cost more than $2 and the cloth more than $0.19. So I definitely came out the winner no matter how defective or crappy this bandanna was. I am definitely not rich and definitely do not have money to waste. When I am not working my main meal is cereal to conserve and save what I have. I am not spoiled. You, who are complaining and finding flaws and writing bad reviews of a $2.19 bandanna, you are the spoiled one. You are the one with delusions. Like I said, please go out and experience the world outside. It is harsh. More harsh than thinking of how much you got ripped off from a $2.19 bandanna. Thank you for taking the time to read my junk. I wanted to get some use out of this before I could give my opinion. I've had it a few days. I got it for menopause hot flashes. It plumps up nicely in water. I noticed after the second time in water how dirty it was. So I washed it by hand in the sink with detergent. Smells nice and clean. Stays cold for a long time. These are excellent cooling scarves! They are well made & a great value from Amazon. I’ve never found a cheaper price anywhere. It arrives flat like a necktie. All I have to do is soak it in cold water for about 5 minutes. The first time you use it you will need to adjust the beads inside by just pushing half of them down to the other end of the scarf’s neck area. Then soak it another two minutes, squeeze the excess water out gently & tie it on to your neck or forehead. It stays cool for a couple of hours easily. Soak it again for a few minutes to get it colder when needed. When you are finished using it hang it up to dry. That’s it! Easy! It really keeps me cooler. These are great for hot flashes. I’ve even worn my to bed a few times. My husband uses his for fishing, riding his motorcycle & cutting the grass. He also uses it at work. This is a wonderful product. Wouldn’t want to be without it. We used these while we were working in a food truck. In the summer the temps in the truck would easily reach 98-100 degrees. These wraps worked better than simply throwing a wet bandanna over your head, however they weren't the most comfortable after several months of use. Not a bad value, but we did find something that worked better for our needs. Maybe for lower temps and lighter use I would recommend this. ... show more

Doesn’t fit around your head thinking about cutting the Velcro off and just using it as a tie and doesn’t stay cool long at all does take a long time for all the water to get out and it to get back to normal pretty disappointed but for 2 bucks can’t expect much I guess thinking it might work nice to freeze and drape around neck ... show more

Ordered two of these.. the black one and the skull one.. I soaked them together in the same water about 8 hours ago The skull one is still cold although a bit slimy The black one is totally dry and stopped being cold hours ago. The skull one was half the price of the black one and works way better. Will test the black one by itself tomorrow and contact Amazon for a replacement if the same results occur. ... show more

I used one of them no more than 5 times. There are two chambers containing the cooling material in the band, one of them is almost empty. I don't know if the cooling material leaked through the seams or through the cloth. The band probably helped somewhat with the heat but for the most part a terrycloth headband is a lot simpler and more absorbent. To keep cool one of the polyvinyl alcohol strips wrapped around my collar works much better. ... show more
