  • Really only a 1/2 swaddle
Color: Fly Me Away
I didn’t accurately see the pictures before I purchased this swaddle. I was just frantically buying 1 of each kind (bc just like bottles, you never know which one baby will like) as my daughter HAD to be swaddled, but would use her insane monkey strength to undo “regular” swaddle blankets. A & A was my go-to bc it worked for the short period of time my previous 3 needed swaddling, so I didn’t know anything about the velcro/zipper types. I was pleasantly surprised to see the little pockets for her arms on the inside of each flap — those were a major plus bc she couldn’t monkey her arms out of this swaddle! But the placement of the arm flaps could be improved. Bc my babe was desperately trying to get her arms out, both arms would be at the very top of the flap, which made closing the swaddle difficult; shed have her arms one on top of the other, so the swaddle would never lay flat at the top/opening (there’d be a gap between the fabric & her body). I’ve since seen another brand where baby’s arms go upward into the flap (instead of sideways like this one), which looks a lot more natural. So, arm flaps — great idea/maybe wrong placement, but still better to have it than not at all. Next is the little diaper looking portion. The part that goes in between theirs legs is a little thick & wide for a brand new babe that’s still rolled up in a ball. Sure, when they’re in the froggy position their legs are open, so width isn’t an issue — but the skirt of this swaddle doesn’t hold their legs up, so that froggy position doesn’t really happen in this one. I’m also not even sure why the diaper part is there (maybe to compensate for the loose skirt?). It didn’t add a “hugged” or swaddled feeling for my baby. In fact, she hated that diaper part. But it was too thick & bulky not to wear (couldn’t comfortably just lay her on it & not use it). Before I actually had to use it I thought it was such a cute idea (bc I cloth diapered my son & it brought back my fondness for cloth diapers — & p.s. if I wasn’t already doing laundry for a family of 6 I’d totally go back to cloth diapering!!). So, diaper — I liked it/baby hated it; not sure why it was even there. Finally, the “skirt”. Oh boy. Again, before using it I thought it was a fantastic idea — of course! legs out for hot babies is genius! Then I realized, like every other swaddle out there, having their legs swaddled is HALF of the equation. You can’t just swaddle their arms & leave their legs to dangle — but every “pre-made” swaddle does!! Babies that want/neeed swaddling need it ALLL over for it to be effective; that means legs too. I think having the option to unzip the bottom to let air in, while still having their legs wrapped tight would be much better for hot babies (along with other adjustments, like fabric choice). The skirt of this swaddle basically left 3/4 of her body un-swaddled, even when tucked in to the skirt. It was just too roomy to give her the relief that swaddling provided. So, the skirt — great idea, poor execution. I really wanted to love using this swaddle. I loved it when I opened the package. The material was soft & thick, so I knew she’d stay warm inside without a blanket (in fact, it would make a beautiful baby blanket, with a softer fabric on the reverse side; for a swaddle the fabric is perfect as is). It’s a high quality item and beautifully made ... but unfortunately, the design of it just didn’t work for us. On the flip side, Ergo makes a zippered swaddle, with snaps at the arm holes for transitioning to arms out. I love that swaddle, bc my baby loves it. She is starting to transition out of swaddling, but sometimes still needs that compressed feeling, so it works perfectly. The only thing I don’t like is how the zipper bumps up under her chin — but that’s an issue ALL zipper swaddles have (esp as baby gets closer to the end of the weight range). But her, your baby could actually love this swaddle & prefer it over the more traditional types, You just never really know what your baby will respond to until you try it. Good luck on your swaddle hunt!! ... show more

  • Great for hip dysplasia!
Color: Fly Me Away
We loved this swaddle for our hip dysplasia baby! Once we got the Wheaton Pavlik harness, our standard swaddles didn’t work for us anymore. This one was perfect because it allowed enough room for her to kick around and stay warm enough while only wearing a long sleeved onesie.

  • Easy, Soft and Cute
Color: Fly Me Away
Liked it so much I bought a second one! I needed a swaddle that was a little more secure than the blanket baby was wiggling arms out of and this had good reviews so I decided to try. Had to watch a very brief instructional video to make sure my tired mommy brain was putting it on right the first time but it really isn’t hard. Super cute pattern and nice and soft, not too thin or heavy material. ... show more

My baby is pretty hard to comfort if she’s not being swaddled. This is the perfect, quick and reliable solution to blanket swaddles.

Color: Fly Me Away
I received the Ergobaby swaddle to try out with my third baby. I wish I had these swaddles with my first babies. I could never find a swaddle that sufficiently kept their arms in- they always wiggled an arm (or two) out of the other swaddle blankets as well as the various velcro swaddles we tried- and we tried at least 5 different types of swaddles and special baby sleep sacks. This time around we've been using the new Ergobaby swaddles. We've used them for the past month and so far the swaddle has worked wonderfully. My baby has been sleeping snuggly and much more soundly than my other babies ever did. I really like these swaddles, and I don't plan on using any other swaddle for my baby. ... show more
