    • Fits Rebel T7 Perfectly
Size: Replace Canon EF EB Eyecup
I purchased a Rebel T7 recently and found the stock eye cup was not very comfortable in addition to not doing a great job of keeping out extraneous light. The Canon stock eye shade slide off relatively easily and this replacement installed just as easily in its place. This eye cup appears to hold well and does not stick out so far that it is likely to get accidentally knocked off or torn. It is comfortable to the eye. Only time will tell how well this will wear. It appears to be made of similar material as the the stock eye cup. It does do its job of providing extra shading and comfort, so it seems well-designed. Canon would do well to have this as standard equipment. This cup does not interfere with the rear screen. Even though the T7 does not have a touch screen, I would not expect this eye cup to interfere with a touch screen of the same size and distance from the cup as the T7. ... show more

First of all, it’s a quality product and installation was easy and quick. Only concern was removing screws when removing the old eyepiece. One screw came out relatively easy, the other not so easy. I was actually concerned that I might distort the screw head. I ended up abandoning the provided screwdriver and using one of my own. Once installed, I really appreciate the sun blocking when it’s coming from the side. I now longer need to cup my hand around the viewfinder. Fortunately, the rubber is soft so my glasses aren’t a major issue. However, I find it easier to use if I remove my glasses. Keep in mind that if you’ve rolled the hood back, the underside restricts the LCD’s movement. If closed, it’s blocked from opening without a little fiddling. Bottom line, a good product thst I was really pleased to come across and purchase. Definitely recommended if you have the need for a hooded viewfinder. ... show more

The extended eyecup is a perfect fit on my Canon R6 Mk II. Be forewarned, the original eyecup has two screws that attach the piece to the camera. These two Philips head screws are very small and extremely tight on the original! The supplied screwdriver fits the cross slots, but it must be absolutely perpendicular to the axis of the screw while turning and exerting downward force to the screwdriver otherwise it will strip the cross-slot out of the screw head! If that happens, getting the screw out will be an absolute nightmare. The screwdriver supplied is marginal at best. Be extremely careful when taking out the original screws and installing the new screws. ... show more

    • It will replace your damaged eye-cup
Size: for Canon EOS R7
This product will replace your damaged R7 eye-cup but in my experience it’s not much better than the flawed original. If you’re reading this you’ve probably noticed that Canon decided to use a very soft rubber for the R7 eye-cup and unfortunately this soft rubber is very easy to damage, especially since the eyepiece protrudes so far past the back of the camera. This design means that the rubber eye-cup is subjected to lots of rubbing against things when in use. I typically use my R7 with a long telephoto lens like the RF 100-500L or RF 200-800mm. When I’m driving around I like to place the camera on the passenger seat of my car. With other cameras the eye-cup was made of harder rubber and didn’t protrude so far behind the camera and this type of use never resulted in damage. It only took about a month for me to shred the original eye-cup so I replaced it with this product. The kiwifotos eye-cup is made out of rubber that’s almost as soft as the original and it sticks out even more than the original. It took about a month before I managed to destroy the kiwifotos replacement cup. This time the problem happened when I was walking in the woods with my camera rig attached to a Blackeapid camera strap. I brushed against a bush and the long rubber eye-cup got caught on the vegetation and ripped the entire eye-cup off the back of the camera. I also found that the kiwifotos eye-cup was difficult to use with glasses as the eye-relief on the R7 isn’t that long so it was challenging to get my eye close enough to the viewfinder to see well with my glasses on. I searched around for another alternative but this seems to be the only game in town so I ordered a second one. This time when I received it, I used a razor to cut away all the excess rubber. So far it’s held up but it’s only been a couple of weeks. I’d say the build quality of this product is on the flimsy side, but that ended up helping me because when it got caught on the vegetation the eye-cup was destroyed and not my camera. I was pleased that installation was easy and the kit included the proper screw driver and replacement screws. If only they would make a similar product with harder rubber and much shorter in length for us eye-glasses wearers. ... show more
