I was shocked. I really expected a piece of crap, despite the glowing reviews. But I was in a bind, and it was cheap. Our bathtub suddenly stopped draining. We tried everything but nothing seemed to unclog it. A snake went a short distance before hitting something solid. Plunging only momentarily let some water pass. We were at a loss and were getting worried we were going to have to open the ceiling under the tub. As a "what the hell," I got this cam and fed it down the drain (yes, under water). The problem was instantly apparent. A contact lens case cap went down our bathtub drain (no grating over the drain). The cap fit perfectly down the pipe until it got to the top of the trap where it made a flawless seal. Using the camera and a wire hanger, I was able to grab it and pull it up. Problem solved. It worked so well...for that. The next use wanted it for was to help fish a wire through the wall. Not so helpful there. As very clearly stated in the product info, the camera has a very small focal length - just a couple of inches. Anything beyond that is going to be out of focus and not lit up by the camera's lights. (The lights by the way are very perfect. They are dimmable allowing just the right amount of light necessary for a clear picture. So the moral of the story is know what this is meant and designed for and it's a very solid product. The app is really mature and quite useful as well. I am really happy with it! If I HAD to come up with a complaint, the box is really small and it's hard to shove it back in for storage. A little storage bag would have been a nice touch....but then again, that would have raised the price. Can't win. :) ... show more
