  • This is really great!
Material Type: Gen 2 Size: whole home monitor with 8 circuit sensors
Hello! This is an excellent product and quite affordable (Vue Gen2, with 8 sensors in addition to the main two that come by default). The manual at the website is quite detailed, and covers several faqs. The installation was fairly easy after reading the manual several times, and being very careful during installation. There are two wires for sensing the two main busbar voltages for proper watt calculations. The application will let you know If the two wires are connected to the same busbar, and will give you the chance to correct and connect them to separate busbars; quite convenient, and this gives you the confidence that the equipment is indeed reading the voltage for watt calculations, and not using any estimated values. Connecting to the cloud might take a while, especially if there is something wrong with the router. In my case, the system did not connect to the cloud initially, and we got concerned about that; but the system connected to the cloud immediately when using the phone hotspot. So, the problem was really the router. After trying reconfiguring the router for a very long time, we finally factory reset the router and worked immediately. The cloud has been working flawlessly since the installation on late September (it's now early November, 2021). Please bear in mind two important things: the one-second data does not storage for a long time, and the exported data from the cloud to csv format shall be downloaded shortly or it will not be available after a while. This second condition is not critical for long available data, but it is for short term data (seconds and minutes). After having everything up and running (we changed the sensors and circuit configurations a few times to get the most out of the system) the information provided is quite useful, as you will know the consumption of almost all your equipments (or group of equipments, depending on the configuration) with a very high degree of accuracy. Storaged information is only available in watts, but current (Amps) is available at the moment, and for quite a long time, depending on the time step. Graphics are quite useful, as they provide a lot of information at different time steps and for each and every circuit, and also in Amps or watts. This system exceeded our expectations by far, after getting it properly installed and configured. For knowing your consumption with high degree of details and accuracy, this is the right equipment, both on features and on price. Don't wait any more, don't think any more, just get it; you won't regret. Best regards, ... show more

  • It really works.
Material Type: Gen 2 Size: whole home monitor with 16 circuit sensors
Simple to install the 16 sensor unit. Very impressed for the money. If you have good experience and confidence with being in an electrical panel you are all set. Shut of the entire house and all installed the sensor. Added two new breakers to power the device. Instructions are on line and are good. Did not need tech support. Cloud app is good and provides immediate data, however, the app could be better, but what app does not. FYI when installing the sensors, they have polarity to the breaker and are clearly labeled on the sensor. ... show more

  • Easy to install and works great
Material Type: Gen 2 Size: whole home monitor with 16 circuit sensors
My solar client who has been really great to work with reached out to me about consumption monitoring to go with their system. I looked over the work orders from the job and saw that Enphase CT’s which are somewhat bulky didn’t fit in their panel. I had seen this solution before and I decided to give it a try. You will need a drill, your drill bits, wire strippers, and electrical tape. Wear work gloves with rubber coated palms, eye protection and consider having someone else with you while you work, even if they don’t do much. If you feel uncomfortable about working on a live electrical system I would really recommend hiring someone to do this work who is licensed and insured. If you are not going that route and you feel that you can work responsibly it is a pretty easy job. The app tells you everything to do and it’s easy to follow along. I did not apply common sense at first, which would tell us to select circuits from the top of the panel going down on each side and try to keep the sides of the device correspondent to the order of breakers in the panel. I had to pull everything off, tape it up, and recommission it because I couldn’t close the panel cover. As a gift for my homeowners I like that it has purpose, longevity, and isn’t consumable. It’s interesting to talk about which can lead them to someone who needs a referral and wants to get their bill lower. Compared to other solutions like Sense and onboard CT’s from SolarEdge and Enphase this is way better. Since you pick the circuits you get high quality data unlike the Sense. CT’s are cool but it doesn’t tell you why your consumption is up, just that your consumption is up. This would be a great tool to get ahead of true up bills, stay on top of time-of-use, and cut consumption for anyone looking to save on bills. ... show more
