  • Satisfied customer
Very easy to use and clean and does a very good job at removing hair

  • A-freakin'-mazing!
Sadly, I have a lot of dark coarse whiskers on my chin and jaw line. My usual method of removal is by tweezing and if in a rush a quick shave. The shaving always left a shadow and the tweezing is a tedious task. It's so hard to get the right ligt and close up view. I was skeptical about this product due to reviews. I couldn't be more happy, wish I would have bought one years ago! Leaves my skin undamaged. When I would tweeze I would often get red spots and sometimes even a little blood. This would result in me looking like I had acne so even if the hair was removed I still looked awful. After a week and a few uses of my emjoi my skin is perfect. No shadows either. It does tug a bit but to me, it's not any worse than plucking with a tweezer. Plus, you get the added benefit of losing a few hairs with each semi-ouchy pass. You do have to aim it right and do have to rub over a spot a couple times to get it all but it is very thorough. I used it the day I got it, had a couple days growth. A couple days later I got the slower groing hairs. Now I just have to maintain with a 30 second once over every couple days before I head out of the house. Once you get it started the maintenance to keep it up is minimal. The only place that caused me to wince was the middle of my upper lip below my nose. That's only because I have a lot of fine peach fuzz there. Otherwise, it didn't hurt anymore than tweezing but is so much easier. Totally worth it to me. Even if it breaks every year I'll be happy to buy a replacement because it's inexpensive and I am so happy with it. Going to order one for my legs next. ... show more

  • Does the job!
I had one of these that I used for years until it finally died. This one takes a little longer but it works and my skin is smooth for quite a while.

  • Don’t waste your money
Feels cheap and didn’t remove my nieces facial hair well. Was able to return and purchase a better solution for her.

  • Works great if you're careful. Totally worth the strong stinging sensation!
This was the first time I've experienced an epilator, although I have waxed and used tweezers for many years. I used it on my face (cheeks, chin, jaw, upper lip), and it worked great! I'm glad I got it. It left my skin completely free of hair. That said, it does hurt. Actually, it stings -- a lot! It didn't bother me, but I know people for whom it would be too much. The sensation is different from the pain of pulling off wax strips. I found this surprising because both methods pull the hair out by its root. It also left my skin a little red for three days. Right after I used it, the "apples" of my cheeks were pink, like flushed in a pretty way from hiking in hot weather or drinking half a glass of wine. For the next two days the redness was less, but was slightly mottled. The day after that, it was all gone. I believe my good results have to do with technique. I carefully followed the instructions that arrived with the unit. The instructions were clear. A couple of hours before I used the epilator, I washed my face with soap, then didn't put anything on it. When using the unit, I pulled my skin very taut, held the unit at a right angle to my face, and skimmed it over my skin being careful not to press it onto my skin. I think I got a little pink on the apples of my cheeks because they're more difficult to stretch taut and so maybe the tweezers touched my skin there a little. After I used the epilator, I very gently wiped my face with witch hazel. For the next two days I washed it gently with soap, and followed with witch hazel. I tried very hard not to touch my face where it was pink. Even if you keep your hands "clean", they have a lot of bacteria on them. I also cleaned the epilator as instructed. ... show more

  • This does not work at all
I have been using one of those slinky type epilator things for a couple years for my facial hair, but they can be time consuming and you have to go over the area many times to get results. I was hoping this product would be much faster. I put in 2 new batteries and followed the limited directions. Nothing. Absolutely no hairs were pulled out. The thing is on and moving rapidly, but it gives no results. I could hardly believe it and wondered if I was doing something wrong. But it’s a pretty straight-forward device: hold it gently to your skin and move in circular direction. I don’t understand how this thing is getting anything more than 1 star reviews when it is not pulling out one hair on me. I will return it. ... show more

  • Epi Slim changed my life!
I developed a facial hair problem after I stopped taking birth control. It started out with a hair or two, and within a few years, there were large patches on my chin, jawline and neck. I also had smaller patches forming on my cheeks. If I devoted an hour or so each day to tweezing, for the most part I could keep it under control. But when the light hit my face a certain way, or I went a day without tweezing, my face was as rough as sand paper in places from the regrowth. I felt manly. I felt like no matter how much I worked at it, I would never really solve the problem. I have waxed, tweezed, shaved, and used hair removal creams. I read about epilators in a magazine, and I read the reviews on here to pick the best one. I read about it being extremely painful and causing ingrown hairs, but out of desperation, I gave it a shot anyway. I have been using the Epi Slim every other day for about two months. I almost never have to go back and tweeze missed hairs, and if you use the opposite side of the head, it can get even the shortest of them. The pain, in my opinion, is comparable to waxing or tweezing. It wasn't anything that would derail me from the incredible results I have seen with this product. I haven't had any problems with ingrown hairs either. I've been using OXY facial cleansing pads about a half an hour before I use the epilator, and a half an hour after I've used it and it makes a big difference with preventing skin irritation and it makes the tweezing hurt less. I actually feel like a normal woman again, and am no longer constantly picking at my face or worried about people seeing my five o clock shadow. If you have a facial hair problem, this product is so worth it. It is the best thing I have ever bought for myself and I will be sticking with this brand for years to come. ... show more
