I’m giving a 5 star because I knew exactly what I was purchasing after researching for a new portable mug; That’s what this is: a mug that can be taken out of the home and helps keep liquid contained. It is not a thermos, so it will not keep the liquid hot for longer than 30 minutes and you cannot flip it upside down because the liquid will spill. You must heat the ceramic before you poor hot liquid to keep it heated for longer. The silicone feels comfortable to the hand and it makes for a great coaster. Because I like to sip water at night, I can use this without waking up my spouse since it will not make a clink sound on the table (huge point earner). The lid is easy to clean: it has a removable silicone ring and the sip door is also removable as is the sleeve (but I do not remove it often for a fear of stretching it out). The ceramic lip shape is comfortable. We both have one and we use it for cold liquids too. It must be held upright while traveling because again, it is not spillproof. It’s simply meant to be a mug with a lid that HELPS to contain the liquid- I can’t stress this enough. I’ve been using this for over a month. It’s easy to hold and it fits in my cars cup holder perfectly. I purchased this in gray color. One of the mugs came defective and the lid was not resting on the groove as it was made to so I exhanged it and the replacement arrived perfect. I love this Ello mug design! ... show more

Beautiful, Durable, & thick Ceramic Travel mug!! I like to drink from ceramic or glass and this travel mug is perfect for my coffee on the go. The silicone sleeve helps to grip when carrying it around, and lessens the effect of the cup feeling hot to touch! This is a ceramic mug so you don't get the 12 or 24 keep cold or hot that comes from some travel mugs, nore the leakproof lid, but you get the awesome flavor while on the go!!!! The cup is microwavable, so you can always warm your drink up if it gets cold. Metal travel mugs, to me, add a funny taste to coffee. I looked for a double walled insulated travel mug and didn't find one. I also didn't find a double walled enameled travel mug either. I came across this item which had good reviews. This mug met my #1 goal of not affecting the flavor of my coffee. However, the coffee really cools down pretty quickly. Overall I am pleased with this purchase. Oh, one last thing. Unlike most travel mugs where the lid is tight and will not leak if tipped over, this one seems to leak. I swirled my coffee around to mix up additional creamer I added and I saw the coffee creep up around the lid. I wonder if it tipped harder, would the whole lid eject and leak all over? ... show more

After decades of searching, I finally found it--the perfect coffee mug for me! First of all, it is very attractive, and it has that unmistakable look and feel of top notch quality. The soft and quite unique outer non-slip cover enhances its appearance, and makes it easy to hold the mug securely and comfortably even when the coffee is very hot. My coffee stays acceptably warm for over 15 minutes, which is almost always sufficient. On those rare occasions when there's still some left, I just pop the mug with the remaining beverage in the microwave for 10 seconds or so to warm it up. I am especially happy that the mug fits snugly into my car cup holder! Its soft outer cover totally prevents that annoying rattling that you get with so many other travel mugs when driving. ONE WARNING THOUGH: The mug is breakable if you drop it on a hard surface (duh. . .) , which is exactly what I did about two weeks after I got it. I was really upset when I broke it, and kept telling myself, "Get a grip Chuck, it's only a coffee mug!" I immediately ordered an exact replacement that same day, and within a day or so all was well again when Amazon delivered the new one. The replacement was just as nice as the first one. I prefer drinking coffee out of ceramic (I'm not a fan of plastic or metal). This is a really nice size mug, much larger than the average ceramic mug. The silicone sleeve keeps your hand cool. Have not tried it in the microwave, though other reviews say it's OK. Works great in the dishwasher, but expect some pooling from water caught between the silicone sleeve and the mug. Best to air-dry on a towel overnight before using. The lid functions to keep liquids from splashing, as you carry it, but it DOES NOT create a tight seal. This is not a mug you can toss in your bag. Always using caution when sipping and assume the lid can shift. Think of the lid as more of a splash guard than a secure top. Anyway, I bought this for my husband as a gift, but then had to get my own. All our other travel mugs have been relegated to the back of the cupboard. We never see them anymore. ... show more

I like ello products and really wanted to like this travel mug option. It looks nice and is easy to hold. It fits in the car holder. The silicone sleeve is unique. However, I poured hot coffee into it almost the second my coffee was done brewing because I was in a hurry. When I got to my office 20 minutes later and sat down to enjoy my coffee, it was luke warm, at best. I didn't want to drink it while driving because I hadn't used this ello container before and, I assumed it would be too hot. Pretty disappointed with this because it was advertised to keep your beverages hot longer. I didn't expect 12 hours of hot or cold, but I did expect it to hold the heat of very coffee longer it did. ... show more

This is different from the other travel mugs. You can put it in the dishwasher. This is a tall ceramic mug with a silicone sleeve and a simple loose-fitting lid. It is heavy - about 1.25 lbs empty, 2.25 lbs full. It holds 16 oz. For hot drinks, you should fill it about halfway with water, and warm it up in the microwave before use. Otherwise, your hot drink will warm up the mug and leave you with a lukewarm drink. For cold drinks, fill it up with ice water first. The lid is not leak proof, but it keeps your drink from splashing out while driving over a bumpy road. But don't tip it over - you'll have a mess. If you have small hands, you may not like it because it is big and heavy. ... show more
