Never did like drinking from metal or plastic and discovered I’m not alone! This mug is perfect. Pretty sturdy. The cap is plastic with a rubber gasket to help keep it from falling out but your lips hardly touch it. The handle is large enough for larger hands and higher up on the cup to allow it to sit in a cup holder. I do have a little problem leaving the rubber bottom piece behind as my cup holder is tight but no biggy for me. I just place it back in the rubber within the cup holder. It detaches to make it washable, I expect. Coffee stays hot enough to have enough time to drink it but is not a thermal cup. Fits under the Keurig with grate removed. As a lover of coffe, tea, and everything warm and cozy, I have to give kudos to the design of this mug. Here's what's different: 1. Silicon base for the win! This not only protects my antique furniture, but also makes the mug feel much more sturdy/stable. 2. Recessed lid. When you take a drink, your lips only touch the ceramic of the mug and not the plastic of the lid. This is a key difference between this mug and similar mugs and it makes a big impact. 3. Handle shape - streamlined and fits my smaller hand so that it feels like I have more control over the mug. 4. Large capacity. My only complaint, if I had one, is that it comes only in 3 colors not offering much style and personalization. I would love to see are large selection of mug colors and various colors of silocon as well for a more modern look. ... show more

This is exactly what I was looking for, as it is large, 18 oz! Yes, it will leak if you turn it upside down:) but it does not leak when you drink from it, nor does it leak when you walk with a full mug with the lid on.

I do NOT know how so many people are loving this mug and gushing about it! I onjbought this dang brick of a mug solely on the reviews and I will NEVER do that again, Cuz this mug was CRAZY EXPENSIVE AND IT IS SUPER DANG TOTALLY UNREAL HEAVY!!! It IS LITERALLY THE HEAVIEST MUG I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!! I am a 43 yr young ;) ahemmm, lol— I am a Very avid coffee drinker & tea drinker, so this is a huge statement from me when I say it’s THEEE HEAVIEST MUG IVE EVER OWNED! Cuz it truly is! Plus, I collect cool coffee mugs so when I say it’s the heaviest EVAAAA, it’s really DANG HEAVY!!! What is Unbelievably worse than THATTT, Is that it also just DOES NOTTTTTT keep your coffee HOT AT ALLLL for long AT ALLLL!!!! I have wayyyy cheaper little mugs (& w/o tops!), that truly do a SIGNIFICANTLY MUCH BETTER job of keeping it hot A LOT LONGER! Anddd most of those mugs were about $3.50 -$5 bucks each. This one was $20.00!! Plus!! Also, I have arthritis… and if you do too, then this mug is terrible for people w that. It’s just too darn heavy… plus who wants lukewarm coffee!? No kidding by the time you add a little bit of cream then sit down, it’s ALREADY barely lukewarm then! This cup keeps things warm. We’re going in the microwave. Has a great handle for my arthritic fingers to grasp. Has a nice lid you can use a straw with if you prefer Easy to wash. I wash it by hand and it’s quite stable on the table.

    • Good microwave / dishwasher safe coffee mug

I wanted a simple, microwave / dishwasher safe coffee mug that holds a decent amount. This mug worked. Saw some reviews how this isn't a good travel mug, which is fair - aluminum (aluminium?) mugs work great for travel mugs, not so good around the house when you need to reheat coffee. This ceramic mug has a removable silicone base to avoid damage to the mug / soften setting it down (needed for its weight), and a silicone lid to hold in the heat. Obviously it's not a good holding in heat as a vacuum chamber metal mug, but works better than standard coffee mugs. Also, the lid only opens at one end, so sipping doesn't allow air in with your lip seal, so I just detach the sliding piece of the lid. This may sound like criticisms, but again, this lid is perfect for around the house coffee / tea drinking. I've taking it with me on the road, it works fine for that as well. The silicone base fits snug in a cup holder, so the cup doesn't budge while driving. Bottomline, for the use around the house, this is a good mug. ... show more
