This umbrella has a double layer of fabric but lite enough for my "vacation travel purse". It provides ample shade for one person. The wind will make it flip open but each time it will return to the correct position.

    • Broke the first gust of wind

First time I used it a gust of wind hit it and 2 of the spines literally shattered. It wasn't a hurricane or tornado, just a typical gust of wind on a rainy day in Seattle. It appears to be made of some kind of really weak plastic fiber.
