The bottle itself is metal. But the top is cheap plastic. My daughter dropped it once and cracked the top to where now the water leaks out. Rendering it useless. Don't buy if it's for children. **changing my review from 1 to 4 stars. I was sent a replacement lid by the company. So far this one has lasted a few months and still no issues.     • Cheap plastic, the lid breaks easily

You don’t want to drop this water bottle. The lid cracked and plastic piece broke off on 2 of my water bottles when dropped. Kids are likely to drop them they should have used more durable plastic. I wish I could get a replacement lid.

The cup is fine, keeps the water cold throughout the school day but the straws split and won’t stay on the cap. I don’t see where they sell replacement straws for this particular size cup. My extras from other cups don’t fit.
