  • Very well made.
Color: 1.Matte Black
I'm very impressed with how well made this is for the price. It's very sturdy and the fit and finish are way nicer than expected. I purchased this with the intent to hide away a Raspberry Pi that I access remotely and keep it protected from dust, kids, cats and what not. However, this thing is so cool that I just can't bear hiding it away. I had no interest in the neat colorful blinky lights either, until I plugged them in. Ok, it's really cool looking and now has it's own mini monitor too. My hide away remotely accessed Pi is now a mini desktop computer on my coffee table. Is it the direction I started heading? No, not at all. Is it the coolest thing on the coffee table. Yes, yes it is. Will it stay there? Possibly. I guess the take away here is, it's well made, way cooler than the pictures led me to believe and the fan is a little loud. Not excessive compared to other fans this size, but if it's the only little fan you have running in the room you will notice it. If you have ten other Raspberry Pi's and ten 3d printers in the room, you may not even notice it's running. If I need another case for a pi 4, I'll probably just buy another one of these. ... show more

  • First impression -- very nice case
Color: 1.Matte Black
Just got my pi set up in this case. Easy to follow instructions for setup. Case is nice and sturdy and well made. Very good tolerances on everything. No complaints so far!

  • Exactly what I wanted and expected
Color: 2.Black Neon
It takes quite a bit more assembly than the standard RPi case, but it was all done in ten minutes. It looks great, and seems substantial. I got worried when the first review for this case (which was added after I made the purchase but before I received it) was two-stars, claiming that the fan doesn't work. I don't know what that means exactly; does the fan run but it doesn't cool the CPU? Does it not run at all? Anyway, my fan works perfectly well. The case is great; it's nice that it relocates the GPIO pins so that they're accessible without opening the case, as well as clearly labeled. There's lots of lights, but to be honest, if it was all up to me, I'd probably coordinate the lights so that there's only one color. This way, there's a red light on my pi board, there's a white light in the fan, and there's blue and red lights on the GPIO relcator card; not to mention all of these lights are seen through green plexi-glass. So it's a bit of a mess aesthetically in my humble opinion. I'd almost rather the sides be black or tinted dark for a more clean look. Nevertheless, it works gloriously, and the fan isn't obnoxiously loud. ... show more

  • Great case design, fan is lacking
Color: 1.Matte Black
Recently purchased this and really liked the results. RGB isn't really to my liking, but I like the idea of having a larger case for my pi, as well as the tall heatsink with a fan to push air through it. Overall I just really like the design, especially as it allows me to actively cool the cpu without blocking access to the GPIO pins. This was a big selling point for me. The one of two things I disliked, which I admit are a nitpick, are the lack of additional small heatsinks for the RAM and ethernet controller. At this price point it absolutely would help to include that little extra bit, even if they aren't really in the airflow path. The heatsink they included could be a tad beefier as well, but works just fine anyway. The other thing lacking is the fan. They put extra effort into making sure this unit had plenty of rainbow LEDs (which you can disable on the electro cookie, not the fan), but seriously skimped out on the fan. It's noticeably loud, even to a person with hearing damage who keeps a large fan on in the background to help block out tinnitus. Even then, I doubt it cools very much. I didn't care enough to test it with and without the fan enabled, but when placing your hand up to the intake and exhaust you can barely feel any air moving. Truly a pitiful fan. Thankfully, the fan was easily replaced with a Noctua NF-A4x20 5V. This upgrade significantly reduced noise and increased airflow, so much so that it inspired me to write a review for this in the first place. My enjoyment of this product has gone up tremendously, and the design is hard to beat. Keep in mind that if you use the fan model I listed above, the existing screws won't be long enough and you'll have to use the rubber fan mounts included with the fan. These are, of course, not intended to use with holes as small as those found in this case, and will have to be trimmed down to fit properly. It was actually quite a pain getting them in, and they leave small protruding brown nubs on the side of the case it's mounted on. I may take the effort to find longer screws for this fan, but I'd probably recommend for others to grab a Noctua NF-A4x10 5V, as it has the same dimensions as the original fan and you'll be able to use the screws that come with the case. ... show more

  • I love these, I own a few of them
Color: 1.Matte Black
They are very easy to install, very durable, and lovely to look at. This is my standard case for Raspi4 systems. I have a cluster installed in these. Highly recommended.

  • Great Case, Fan is NOT Loud
Color: 1.Matte Black
This is a really good case, if you don't mind the size. There are smaller cases out there, but this one will definitely give you good ventilation and easy access to the GPIO pins. The ambient lights are a nice little touch. I'll probably buy at least one more for another RPi. There are multiple reviews saying that the fan is loud, but I'm absolutely not having the same experience. Mine is pretty quiet. I can barely even tell it's running without having to put my hand near it to feel the air. Maybe the other folks didn't mount the fan properly, or tightly enough, or mounted the fan backwards, or put the black and red wires in the opposite positions. I really don't know, but my fan is very quiet. ... show more

  • Excellent case
Color: 2.Black Neon
Someone told me "Isn't that a bit of overkill for a Pi?" Of course it is! But it's the perfect amount of overkill. I got this case for my Pi4 because I wanted something with active cooling, and something that was sturdy instead of just being a cheap piece of plastic junk. Both of those objectives were satisfied. Fantastic case that looks great and does exactly what I want it to do. And it looks kinda sweet while doing it. I highly recommend this case and would not hesitate to buy another one. ... show more
