  • Great for homeschool
This a great for a simple school anemometer. We got it to replace a cheep one that came with a weather kit. The one that came in the kit from a different company didn’t spin well at all. This spun much more smoothly. I wouldn’t say it is professional grade, but it was great for watching and documenting the weather for a month or two. ... show more

  • Great mini anemometer

  • Toy for toddlers, nothing holds cup assembly to stem. Bye bye in 10 knots. DESIGN FLAW . Junk .
Absurd design flaw. Nothing holds rotating cups on the stem , again nothing holds the cups on. How people can design an instrument so horribly flawed and sell it to the public without a statement like.... “this instrument is a toy, to be used on a kitchen table for entertaining toddlers. .....except if you have your window open or AC on then cups will fly off as they are not retained in any manner” . Shame on Eisco Scientific ... show more

  • it seems to work pretty well. Still more testing needed, though.
As was mentioned in another review, there is nothing to keep the cups on the spindle, although one could probably be made after giving it some thought. I like that it will respond to a very gentle breeze. I'd say maybe 30 to 40 mph is all that it could take without some modifications, though. It's a nice little tabletop anemometer with some potential. I believe it would work fine for children just learning about the weather. ... show more
