I bought a set of 4x6 frames and a set of 5x7 frames at the same time, both in the Natural finish. The 5x7 frames came with no coating (i.e., open pore), but the 4x6 frames came with a clear coating, which makes the color slightly darker. So I requested a refund. These are nice frames. It’s hard to find real wood frames that aren’t super expensive. The plexiglass is helpful because it’s so lightweight and won’t break. This frame would be perfect for someone in a nursing home, or if you were wanting to ship a framed photo.
