Description

The EGO POWER+ 21" Select Cut Self-Propelled Mower delivers performance that exceeds the power of gas. The Select Cut Multi-blade Cutting System is equipped with three, interchangeable lower blades; the Mulching Blade, High Lift Bagging Blade and Extended Runtime Blade. The Mulching Blade comes installed on the mower and is ideal for weekly mulching, giving you the mulching quality you would expected from a high-end gas lawn mower. The High Lift Bagging Blade provides extra suction ideal for bagging, leaving your yard free of clippings. The Extended Runtime Blade provides an optimal balance of cut quality and runtime for all around performance. All three blades can be used interchangeably based on your desired cut. The EGO Upper Blade is used in combination with the lower blade chosen to slice the grass into fine fragments; this greatly enhances cutting performance with all grass types. EGO’s Self-Propelled Touch Drive Technology comes from years of research and development. Touch Drive Technology puts complete control of the self- propelled system in the palm of your hands by using pressure to engage the system. Easily control the variable speed with a dial positioned at your fingertips for safe and convenient operation. • Fairly quiet, cuts very evenly sized grass and can move very fast or slow, adjustable speeds.
Style: 21" Mower w/7.5Ah Battery, Touch Drive
I received this mower 1 day ago and charged the battery quickly. The mower is so easy to use, can move faster than any gas mower I have owned, and, you can shut off the self propelled feature or used it at a very slow speed. The noise level is low and the cut is a "golf course" quality, it does a great job. Be prepared for the registration, you have to register this model 3 times, your must register the mower, battery, and the charger separately. Be sure to have your receipt scanned in because you will have to upload a copy for each device. Great mower, I bought one for my daughter's house and then one for me ( my gas mower died thank goodness. It really is great not having to smell gas fumes. Thank You. ... show more

  • Great powerful beast
Style: 21" Mower w/7.5Ah Battery, Select Cut
Machines works really well cutting grass evenly and precisely, leaving you a clean, evenly cut throughout the grass field in your backyard. The handle bars are very sturdy and snaps on and off easily and precisely, Almost all of the grass trimmings are collected in the net basket. There's virtually no hassle in trying to sweep the grass trimmings after cutting. The battery is very big and heavy but powerful and charges really quick, about 30-50 min should get you a full charge. The speed of the self-propelled is adjustable so you can push forward effortlessly since the mower moves forward by itself. The mower also comes with two extra blades for different modes of grass cutting. I didn't try them, so I can't tell you how well it is. ... show more

  • Works as well as my 21" gas mower
Style: 21" Mower w/7.5Ah Battery, Select Cut
I've only used it with the mulching blade and the 7.5ah battery. My lawn is the average 100 year old suburban lot. My guess is about 1500sf of grass. It mulches better than my 21" gas mulcher. It is lighter but not by much. It is easier to maneuver. It is much quieter, easier to start and no gas or exhaust smell(big benefit for me). Battery life varies greatly. I've always been able to do the whole lawn on a single charge. When the grass is very long and wet with using the self propel that's all you get from it. When I'm cutting about an inch(normal for me), it is dry and I don't need the self propel only about 20% of the battery is used. Charging the battery from dead with the supplied charger takes an hour. The cost of an EGO 7.5 battery is $400 or $180 for an after market. Not sure how long it will last, guessing about 5 years. The cost of gas and oil /year is about $10 if you do the maintenance yourself. This may not be the money smart move but I'm looking at the other perks. ... show more

  • Plastic deck?
Style: 21" Mower w/7.5Ah Battery, Touch Drive
I have given my review 4 stars ⭐️ because the engineering is basically very good. Easy to use, battery is sufficient (except when mowing heavy grass) like the features that it offers with the exception of one. The plastic deck, poly carbonate, or otherwise, I don’t think it’s the best thing for a mower deck. Also, the shaft, which holds the blade on the bottom looks fairly thin, compared to a regular engine mower. And short, this mower would be great for a normally well-kept lawn. (without lots of debris in the grass like rocks or toys or anything else). If you have a rough lawn one like out in the country or somewhere where there are lots of toys or other debris that can hit the blade, I feel that it would only be a matter of time that the shaft would be knocked out of alignment. Also, the pinging I hear when something in the lawn hits the deck , no matter how small it is, concerns me. I see there are other models made by ego that have an aluminum deck, and if I had to do it all over again, I would probably get one of those. However, so far it has been an efficient machine, well engineered, good features, and plenty of power to mow the lawn. I’ve had the lawnmower a couple of months now. So far so good. Follow up: Haven’t had the machine now for a full mowing season, I have to say it’s been a pleasure to use over the gas versions I was using. Lighter, more efficient, bagging works well or even heavy grass if you take your time and dump them more often. Now that I have learned to use the machine with this little ins and outs, I’ve learned that the self propel mechanism being an electric motor is best when used as to start the momentum of the machine when in tight spots or an incline, then push the machine yourself so that the mechanism doesn’t jump as it sometimes will when you engage and disengage the self propelled motor. In all, I would give it a thumbs up for the season. ... show more

  • Impressive!
Style: 21" Mower w/10.0Ah Battery, Select Cut
This was my first experience with a powerful battery powered piece of equipment so I was a tad skeptical that it would be as powerful as a gas mower. But shockingly it was equal and a tad better at self propelling. PROs - pretty much pre-assembled - just a few adjustments and putting on the output shoot - battery charged faster than others I’ve owned and extra battery that came with the promotion ensured we had plenty for our 3/4+ acre lawn - the original battery lasted for the majority of the lawn and stayed strong. Used extra one at the very end - amazingly easy to start compared to combustion engines. I have always encountered trouble with starting the engine on first try but this was a breeze. I’d buy it again just for that (and no gas/oil mix). - should be much lower maintenance if taken care of (I have a small electric weed wackier and it has sun perfectly several years so far. PRO/CON - The self-propelled was was powerful - but almost too much for a small person. When I first tried it, I felt like an owner being “walked” by their large dog. It pulled me along almost jogging. Since then o have reserved using it only for inclines for which it is perfect CONs - it’s heavy. Which is good as it keeps low to the ground when mowing but though it fold up easily, it’s heavy when carrying it into the shed. The instructions say it shouldn’t be left outside. - worked slightly less well on a longer patch that hadn’t yet been mowed. Had to go over it twice. But never had to do that again as works well in subsequent mows. ... show more
