I'm...how should I say this.....not skinny. The Lord gave me ample backside and thighs. I fed them with poor food choices in the 90s and 00s to get to where I am today. These pants fit very well. They have just enough stretch to handle business, but not enough stretch that I think things are getting out of control. They have a extra belt loops in the back that are good for those of us that have to have a belt to keep things up. You know what I'm talking about if you have a little extra junk in the trunk, and a smaller waist. You don't get that annoying belt straining against the belt loops because there aren't enough of them to keep things under control...situation. I like the side pockets and zippers. It just barely fits my S9 phone. The fabric is crazy light, but crazy durable...it basically goes against the laws of physics. I'm not worried about the thigh-rub situation being a problem...at least not for a while. I work in ag, and need them for field work, I've already experienced how quickly they dry! It's a modern miracle!! The only thing I don't like is that there are no back pockets. However, it wasn't enough to make me not like them. I bought a second pair. These pants are my Go-To pants for travel. They have some stretch, so they are comfortable on airplanes or long car trips. They are thin enough that they take up very little space in luggage, about 1/2 of what a pair of jeans takes up. They have a very convenient pocket (with zipper for security) on the legs. I have two complaints about the pants. 1) The pocket on the leg is very convenient and secure, but a cell phone just barely fits. My phone is approximately 6 inches by 3 inches; if yours is larger, it will stick out the top and not allow it to zip up. (Note: the same pocket on the men's version of these pants is considerably larger). 2) That glow-in-the-dark logo is overpowering. I understand that the company wants to get credit for their product. But maybe they should consider that sometimes "less is more". That bright white logo is so garish that it almost kept me from buying a second pair of these pants. I would love to get rid of it if I could, and tried everything I could think of to dissolve it, but had no success. Moving the logo to a less obvious position, or making it smaller (or both!) would help a lot. ... show more

Just bought my second pair! I've previously been a fan of the Prana Halle pant and recently had to size down in pants. Bought these and the Halles and right away decided on these. I ordered the grey first and then the black and the grey are a little slimmer fitting. I'm 5'9" and the length is good. I wouldn't mind 1-1.5" longer. I've climbed in these and they have good movement (not as stretchy as the Halle). ... show more

I like the fabric and construction of these pants. I love that all four pockets are actually deep enough to be useful! Like many others, I hate the bright A-shaped logo on the front of the left thigh, which prevents these pants from being more versatile and dressy. However, I rubbed the logo thoroughly with cotton balls soaked in 70% isopropyl alcohol, and it came right off. :) I'm 5' 3" and just over 150 pounds, carrying my extra weight in my hips and tummy. I'm happy with the fit of the regular length size 10 pants in the waist, hips, and rise, although I may hem them an inch or so going forward. The petite size 10 wasn't in stock, so I was unable to compare the petite with the regular, although my understanding is that the Eddie Bauer petites are sized down all over, and are not just shorter in the leg length. I did try the size 12 regular, and they were too loose and baggy on me. ... show more

These hiking pants were the best purchase I made for my 2 week Belize adventure. I was worried about the fit because I have a big booty with a smaller waist, but, the stretchy material had no problem fitting over my hips. Even though they easily stretched as needed, they don't stay that way, they bounce right back to their original shape when you wash them. Super quick-drying, I was able to wash and wear them within an hour of hanging on a line. While in the jungle, you really must cover your legs, but, it's also super humid, so these were invaluable for staying cool, dry, and free of bug bites. I even wore them at the beach to protect me from the sand flees at sunset. I pretty much lived in these pants the entire 2 weeks, and I only wish I'd bought a 2nd pair. Very durable, resisting snags from rocks and tree limbs, and dried mud wipes right off with a wet cloth. ... show more

These pants are great for hiking the trails and stylish enough for everyday wear. I first bought them for my Alaskan vacation. The one day that it rained the water repelled off and I stayed dry. There is sufficient stretching in the fabric to wear thermal pants underneath . I now have 3 pairs.

The waist fit fine, the length was perfect. I liked everything about the pants, but there was way too much room in the seat and thigh area (Slightly curvy it said). Size 12 was a real size 12. Not too tight, not too loose. I ordered 2 different Columbia hiking pants & 1 pair Bauer for more $$. These were not too short, long enough to go over my hiking shoes without dragging nor being too short. 5'9" height, typically 32 inseam works well for me (when it's really a 32" inseam and not just listed that way). The Columbia - 1 was too short and the other the pockets were styled in such a way that they stuck out and pulled across the entire zipper area. Returned both Columbia & happily kept these Bauer & will order another pair in another color for hiking/walking in Florida heat. Also, they don't make a lot of noise when walking around from what I can tell - have not been hiking yet. ... show more
