Description

This ECP poly cotton correction half pad features a quilted top with an ultrasoft brushed underside. The poly cotton quilted top has 6 pockets including 3 front pockets and 3 back pockets with 3 memory foam shims in each pocket. This allows you to customize the fit exactly where you need it. The memory foam is provided with the pad and is contoured specifically for front or rear placement allowing for a more ergonomic fit. It allows for customizing with the ability to fit and compensate for changes in the horse's shape due to age or physical condition. This conforming pad allows for excellent circulation and padding and it absorbs and wicks away moisture. The variable geometry provides relief of pressure points where it matters the most for your pet. It is available in 2 colors including white and black. Size: top length is 22 inches and drop length is 8.5 inches. Care Instructions: Remove memory foam shims. Machine wash without agitator or hand wash in cold water and mild detergent. If needed use non-chlorine bleach on white pads only. Use a mild or gentle cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry.

Used this on my 25yo gelding who's top line tends to fluctuate coming from Winter to Spring/Summer, so to keep him comfortable while bringing him back into work I've used this half pad to supplement his lack of muscling. I've been looking for a three section shim pad that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. I have a Welsh cross that has QH shoulders/withers and a flat pony back and every saddle I've tried on him bridges to some degree (custom tack is not an option for us). I was able to use the shims in just the middle section of this pad and it fills the gap perfectly leaving the saddle balanced with even contact/sweatmarks. Love the ECP brand - good quality products. But I was grateful for the other reviewers that warned about the foam being difficult to remove - because I was forewarned I was able to pull the shims from the other pockets without tearing them. This pad is great, except for one annoying flaw in the design. The velcro straps have the two sides of Velcro in the wrong place. The scratchy side should be on the end, but instead the soft side is on the end. The scratchy side rubs against the leather of my saddle and it's causing the leather to scratch and wear thin. If the scratchy side had been on the end, then the soft side would be touching my saddle and wouldn't cause any damage. My horse has no withers and so saddles have a tendency to sit very downhill. This works great to give her some faux withers. I eliminated a star because the shims are very easy to tear (they are a foam like material). When I was taking some of the shims out, I had to be really careful with the removal. ... show more

The pad is very high quality, made of strong materials and well stitched. It has many compartments that were perfect for getting my geldings saddle to fit comfortably for him. There is a night and day difference in fit and there is a lot of adustability to get it just right for almost any horse's unique shape and fitment. I think this is decent for the price but the insert panels are kind of flimsy. I ripped an insert panel just by pulling it out. If you can splurge I would go for a thin line pad.
