I have rosacea, so I use mineral powder. I have two general makeup brushes that I use basically every day. It was a pain to wash them out. I was using my old herbal essence shampoo to clean them, but it always irritated my face and didn’t really get the powder out very well. This shampoo does the trick. A little goes a long way, and it washes away the gunk quickly. It doesn’t leave behind any scent at all and my brushes feel almost new. I just wet them, add a small drizzle of this shampoo, and then agitate the bristles with my fingers. I rinse them well, squeeze the excess with a clean washcloth, finger fluff them and put them back in their jar. They’re dry by the next day. I’m really happy that I found this stuff. It makes washing my brushes feel simple, whereas before it was such a chore. I hope they keep making this stuff for quite a while. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The consistency is that of soap or shampoo. It isn’t oily at all. It’s simple to use and it did a good job of cleaning my makeup tools. It did a good job of breaking done the makeup residue left behind and worked well with my brushes, sponge, and powder puff. I think this product has a very good price point, and obviously I like that it doesn't smell like chemicals as many brush cleaners do. It cleaned my brushes pretty well -- it didn't get all of the old stains out, but it did a good job. I wouldn't use this on very high quality, expensive brushes, mostly because of how you need to use it. You have to be a little more rough with the bristles than you would using a more high end makeup brush cleaner. You also kinda end up getting the whole brush wet, and in order to preserve your brushes, it's best to try to only get the bristles wet and not the place where it connects to the handle. That being said, I don't have any high end brushes. Mine are mostly e.l.f. with an occasional amazon brush here and there. So I don't mind using this stuff. I especially like it on sponges. I used it to clean my very dirty maybelline fit me pressed powder sponge and it is now almost completely white. I also purchase inexpensive beauty blender-like sponges in 6-packs on amazon, and this cleaned those well too. Make sure you squeeze a lot with those; you'll get a ton of dirty water to come out :). I like this and will purchase again for just regular drugstore makeup brush use. If I ever invest in a nice professional set of brushes though, I'm going to look for something else. ... show more

I just received this brush cleaner so I was excited to use it. My brushes have not been cleaned for quite awhile! I love how easy and fast the cleaner got all the makeup out of each brush. I also cleaned my sponges and it did great. Very impressed with this brush cleaner!

    • Meh. A decent makeup brush shampoo

I needed a makeup brush shampoo since regular soap just wasn't cutting it to get out the cosplay makeup on my brushes and so I got this. It's OK for getting rid of cosplay makeup but it takes several washes to get all of it out. Better than just regular soap, but it's no miracle. With regular makeup, even when you wash them right after use, it still takes several washes, though not as many as with cosplay makeup. Honestly, this works best for powder makeups like eyeshadow, but anything liquid is tough. For the price, you get a pretty good amount of product even with all the washes I still have a little over half left and I bought this a few months ago. So if you have time on your hands and want something cheap, this is an okay buy. If not, you should invest in a better makeup brush shampoo. ... show more
