Wasn't sure this would work as the cover is somewhat rounded. However, with the additional side strap provided I picked it up easily with my main halyard. I'm very satisfied with the product. I did order the heavy duty version which is good for outboards up to 35 HP.

    • Sturdy and will last a long time
This is a beefy item that is plenty strong for small outboards. Due to the size of the webbing you will need to completely take apart the connections to weave it through the outboard (10hp or smaller). It is complicated but only took about 15 minutes to sort out. The extra safety strap is definitely needed for newer outboards and does its job well to balance the outboard during lifting. ... show more

    • Really great lifting straps
I have a newer 20 hp Yamaha four stroke outboard motor and after him just in the straps for a few minutes it works like a champ. I use an electric winch from Harbor freight and it lifts that motor off the boat like it weighs nothing. The straps are real snug and secure and the safety strap does fit through the loops without taking the straps all the way off the buckles so try that first.
