  • Very high quality!
The most helpful review says that this book looks cheaply scanned. I don't see what they mean at all. Everything is superbly presented and printed :P

  • A nice variety of short, easy pieces...
I use thi sbook with my piano students for supplemental lesson pieces. Most of the pieces are short and range from late beginner to early intermediate level (Grade 1 to early Grade 3) and are great for sightreading exercises, recital selections, and extra learning material. The book covers a large range of classical styles so a student can find his or her favorites. For slightly more advanced students, I assign these pieces to give the students something easy and fun to learn quickly amid more difficult lesson material. My only issue is that it would be helpful to have short notes describing the composer or era. Also, I would like to see opus numbers where applicable as a reference. Otherwise, this a great resource of easy pieces in their original form. I also like that lesser known composers and pieces are also included. ... show more

  • Good Material for Beginner and Experienced Player Alike
A very useful collection of pieces that stand alone from a musical point of view, but are also good for early technical development and for the not too demanding purpose of analysis of form, melodic construction, harmonic schemes, and counterpoint where it might apply. Also, it’s proven to be a valuable resource as sight-reading material for the more advanced player, and likely useful this way for musicians who play styles outside of the classics. Had volume 27 years ago when I last took lessons and enjoyed it. When I took playing back up I rebought volume 27 and love it so much that I purchased this volume as well. They are both wonderful to play. The songs are not rearranged to be easier; they are original to how they were written but are easier pieces. For reference, I took lessons on and off for maybe a total of 3 years, between 20 and 10 years ago. These pieces are easy enough for me to master after putting in ample practice but not easy enough to plop right down and play. Just the right amount of challenging! ... show more

  • A great book for students and piano players in general. Classical, easier arrangements.
I ordered this for one of the piano teachers at the music studio and she's very happy with it. These arrangesments are easier, (as the title says), than the regular classics to modern series. They are wonderful teaching books for any student wanting to learn how to play classical music. They help tremendously with sight reading, timing, etc. You can not fake classical piano music. I have students who love contemporary and I also allow them, after they learned the piece, to do a bit of improvising. I enjoy teaching classical because every note, every articulation needs to be played. A great book for students and piano players in general! ... show more

  • Coil Bindings..."Music for the Millions Series"
"Fedex Office" can put on a coil binding which makes it easier to lie flat on the music stand. The coil binding eliminates "one more excuse" not to be practicing and enjoying the music. Denes Agay did a great job in compiling and editing this series of work. I'm heading over to Fedex Office as soon as I click "submit". ... show more
