I was also surprised with the packaging. They came in a case, with a cloth to clean them, and the case was in a box. I bought these to go on a cruise. I'm horrible at losing my sunglasses. I seen these and read the reviews and decided to give them a try. Loved the way they looked. Couldn't tell that they were pretty much a cheap pair of sunglasses. I even bought some blue and red swimming trunks to match them. I do wish they was just a little darker but wasn't really a big deal breaker. I have a $140.00 pair of Oakley's and used them for driving, but I didn't wear them to the beach or goofing off on the ship in fear that I would scratch them up or lose them, I used these instead. I was pleasantly surprised by these glasses. They are pretty low cost but the comfort and quality is great. It comes with a hard and soft case which is awesome so I can just throw it in my glove box. I love wearing them for driving. I wore them on a 4 hr road trip and they were awesome. The polarization and lens color work great together. My one small complaint and I think someone else mentioned this in a different review was that they smelled pretty bad right when I opened them up. Like they were shipped in cigarette butts or something (the shipping was great incidently) really bad. The smell went away after being left out one or 2 days. If they smell now I don't notice it and my wife would tell me if they did. So hopefully they get that smell under control but overall great. ***Update*** I bought another pair of these after I lost my pair in the ocean. There was no issue with smell this time.     • Fairly Nice Budget-Oriented Shades
Color: Red
I like the design and the light weight frame of these shades. I got the Orange-tinted lenses and they're fine. While I'm OK with the sunglasses and they're under $20 which is great and they are polarized, I don't think the lenses areas tinted as they should be. In most polarized lenses I can't see my eyes in a mirror - I can see my eyes enough to determine where I'm looking and that's indicative of lenses that are either thinner than normal or the tinting isn't as dense as other brands might use. There's also the issue of the lack of dual-flexing hinges. These shades are just big enough to fit on my head but if my head were any bigger these would be uncomfortable. I don't have a huge head but I'm sure I have a slightly-above average head (I'm a male and 6' 2") so keep that in mind if you're looking to pick up a pair of these. The hinges that expand outward would easily fix an issue for people with larger heads so hopefully the manufacturer can look at that in the future. They are also said to be "oversized sunglasses". I disagree. They're fairly typical size. I put them next to a pair of Wayfarer style shades that I had that are beat up and they're almost identical in size - maybe a couple tenths-of-an-inch larger? Not enough to call them "oversized", and as a result they don't fully shade my face from the sun when it's fairly high in the sky. Truly oversized shades would solve that problem so maybe the manufacturer can look at that too in the future. But for less than $20 it's not a bad buy. I think people with smaller heads may not have the same reservations about these shades than I do. ... show more
