This comes with such a great variety of each color. Like 10 shades of blue and 10 of red. When I purchased this I was really just wanting a better way to store and use the pencils, but when I received it and saw the variety of colors I was blown away!!! This product as a whole is beyond my expectations. The storage, the ease of use, the colors, the value for the money!! There are not enough great things to say about this. I was so excited when I first opened this that I am considering buying it as a gift for my older teenage daughters and nieces for Christmas! As far as the performance of the pencils themselves I will update after I use them. But I initially scribbled with a few colors and was not disappointed at all! I have always always wanted to take the time to do pencil art. With all the videos on you tube my dream of drawing is coming true. The instructional videos reference different pencils to use. This pencil art set fills those requirements. I was a little overwhelmed wirh all that was included in the set at first. Everything you need to know about using pencil, erasers, and blending can be found on you tube. This set is a great step to have on getting started. This is exactly what I was seeking for my son. My son loves to draw, and has been doing so with only a #2 pencil, or colored pencils, until now. This is the perfect size case for carry, backpack, or travel, and came with a 6x8.5 sketch pad with 100 pages! No other set I researched came with a sketch book with that many pages. All pieces are just as advertised, and this set will last for years to come. No more black fingers from blending. This set has 3 different size blending stumps, and they are strong. I was worried that they may flex and break after a few uses, but they are good quality. Very good set, especially for a beginner or a student.
