okay real talk - this is a detailed and personal post regarding my individual skin care struggle. your results may vary. since i turned 25, i have struggled with acne like i have never had before. after going my entire life hearing people tell me, “you have beautiful skin!” and having the occasional pimple, i was completely unprepared to deal with the onslaught of blemishes. i didn’t know a lot about skin care at this point in my life because i never had to worry about it. i used moisturizer because my face was incredibly dry (to the point of pain) after a shower and that was it. i didn’t wash my makeup off at night and i don’t think i even washed my face, i would just stand under the water and rub my eyes until my makeup was mostly gone and remove the rest with lotion after i got out. to make a long story short(er), i am now pushing 30 and i do not have beautiful skin anymore. i’m a hot mess with acne-prone, sensitive combination skin. this required a whole new routine from the dry skin i was used to. i feel like i have tried well over 50 different types of skin care products that i’ve either read about or that have been recommended to me, both at the higher-end and drugstore price points, and let me just tell you... i finally splurged and gave in to the $29.50 price tag on clinique’s clarifying lotion. at this point, i’m desperate for a solution and i already use the dramatically different moisturizing gel as my daily moisturizer and have had massive improvement in my overall tone, but i needed just a little more. guys, this clarifying lotion is the BOMB. it’s a powerful toner & exfoliant that removes dead skin cells. i have been using it for less than a week, and i have had great results already! i may just have to give in and buy the 1st step in their 3-step skincare line. i now have step 2 and 3 in my daily slathering of products, why not seal the deal? right? right?!? anyway if you’re like me and struggling with your skin, i highly recommend the clinique clarifying lotion and the moisturizing gel. no one paid me to post this. i’m just a girl, standing in front of a mirror, screaming at my zits. 😂😂 #butseriously ... show more

I have beyond dry skin and live in the PNW. Wintertime my skin gets crazy dry to the point of me having red dry patches. I have been using this moisturizer for years and it never irritated my skin, and after a few days of us, my skin get back to feeling smooth. Product is great in that it does not leave an oily residue--GREAT for oily skin, doesn't clog pores. That being said, it doesn't moisturize as well as other Clinique creams. I have used this for years, this is the first time I have bought online, and definitely convenient. If you find yourself often in need of something more moisturizing (like in the winter months) or have dry skin, this will likely not be enough for you.
