Description

The shriver hi is a thoroughly modern boot for the alternative fashion consumer with an extra chunky sole that elevates the wearer. A rugged heeled boot that gives a feeling of power. Care instructions - Wipe away dirt with damp cloth, ensure shoes are dry then apply Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam using the sponge applicator Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole.

  • Most comfortable shoes/boots I’ve ever worn!
Size: 8 Color: Black
These Shriver Docs are perfection and took 1-2 days to break in, no blisters whatsoever. I’ll be wearing these to death after treating with mink oil. They are just the right height for walking just about anywhere, with absolutely no pain. The leather is superb and not shiny at all, thankfully. I did a try before buy on a different pair of docs that were oxfords. My Shriver boots are much lighter in weight and way more comfortable. ... show more

  • Edgy and Stylish
Size: 5 Color: Black
Super cute boots! I like the chunky heel and it was surprisingly not too uncomfortable. I am short and these boots give me some height. The more you wear and break them in the better. I have feet problems (my toes sometimes feel numb) and these boots were actually more comfortable than my flat Dr. Martens ... show more

  • Beautiful classic
Size: 7 Color: Black
Love this boot. Beautiful, well balanced classic boot. They are a bit heavy but I got used to them quickly . The leather softened after 3 wears. Fits slightly large so I sized down to 7 instead of my usual 7.5 and I also wear thick sock or 2 pairs of socks. My favorite boots.

  • My favorite new boots
Size: 10 Color: Black
Even with a heel on them, these fit much more comfortably than my last pair of Docs. Nice, crisp look and wore just a couple times inside before heading out and wearing as normal. Fit true to size. The platform gives a nice boost.

Size: 7 Color: Black
True to size..I'm a 7 and ordered 7 and they fit perfectly. No break in period. Super comfortable & Quality made. My 2nd pair of Doc Martens and may not be my last. Thank You...

  • I love these boots
Size: 7 Color: Black
These boots are great, I was considering getting myself a pair of platform Doc Martens for a while, and I'm glad I finally splurged. Pros: The sole is super sturdy and thick but also flexible enough to be comfortable. The leather seems to be decent quality. After having them almost a year, they are due for a polish but that's the majority of the wear and tear they've sustained, they are still in almost new condition. Cons: The leather takes a while to break in, it is still pretty stiff and I still get a blister at the back of my heel if I walk in them a lot in one day. The laces that come with them are a tiny bit short, I can't lace them up all the way and still make a decent knot, but they are more comfortable to leave the top loop or two without laces anyway. Overall: definitely my favorite shoes. I'm glad I got the leather version, because these will obviously hold up well over time and look super cool the entire time. They run slightly big but I feel like that's better than being too small, at least I can still wear them, you just might want thick socks. ... show more

  • Very cute but heavy boots
Size: 6 Color: Black
These boots are very cute and I've gotten so many compliments every time I wear them out. You can dress these up since they have a slight heel or dress them down. I like the thick style sole and heel since it adds a few inches to my short height. My only complaint is that they are heavy and after walking for long distances my feet get tired. I have not had them for very long and they have obvious creases so we'll see how they hold up. I'm usually a size 6.5 or 7 and ordered the size 6 and it fits well. ... show more

  • Comfort and style
Size: 9 Color: Black
These boots are fantastic. Not only are they super cute. Can be dressed up or down but they are incredibly comfortable. I took them brand new on vacation and wore them for 3 days straight. Had a little rub on my heel but did not ever give me a blister. I did put on a compeed blister sticker for a little protection and then never rubbed again. I wear a 9.5 in tennis shoes and 10 in sandals. These fit perfectly in a size 9. Size down. Do not size up. You will not regret this buy. Some people complain about the weight. I mean they are boots. Of course they are heavier than a shoe. But I did not notice the Weight after about 10 minutes of wearing them. 😅 ... show more
