  • Capable little unit
Color: Black
I needed a small, easy to hide amplifier to run a set of rock speakers for a hideaway backyard movie theater project. I also wanted to run the amp through an additional splitter to power a set of speakers in conjunction by a swimming pool. I have had a good experience with compact Class D amps and was looking for something with just a little more power than the 15 WPC unit I already owned. This seemed to fit the checklist. It's extremely compact, well featured and reasonable priced. I came into this purchase with the understanding that Class D specifications are typically over-inflated and should not be taken for granted. The power supply can also make a tremendous impact on these amps and having an underpowered supply prohibits the amp from performing anywhere near it's peak. This amp does still come with some of those caveats: For starters, it does indeed only ship with a 19 Volt 4.7 Amp power supply which is not enough to achieve the claimed 50 Watts per channel. However, it's still plenty of power for what these amps are designed for. Secondly, the sound signature of the amp is relatively flat, though it does roll off pretty quickly as the bass increases. This was remedied fairly successfully by using the equalizer of the source devices. The aesthetics of the amp leave a bit to be desired. The combination of LED colors and system lights does give that "Christmas Tree" feel as opposed to serious audio equipment. A single color across all lights would be better or the ability to select a color. As I have this hidden away, it's not too much of a concern, but that does lead to another wish. A remote control function would be a great addition. The control buttons are fairly small and when hidden away, as is usually the case with these tiny amps, trying to either "feel around" for the proper button or access the control panel is a bit on the cumbersome side. Lastly, it is definitely not a "premium" feeling product. It is extremely light weight (even for a Class D amp) and is of a plastic that feels more at home on dollar store toys than on electronics, but it is well assembled, nothing feels loose or creaky and it's form factor was well though out, creating a much smaller footprint than one would expect. With all of these out of the way however, what is still leftover is a clean, consistent and fairly powerful amp. It is currently powering 2 Outdoor 8" Rock Speakers to levels that could easily annoy the neighbors, yet with enough overhead, that when I click on the splitter and run a second set of speakers simultaneously, still kick and push out the sound with aplomb. This should not be expected to produce enough audio to bring down a house nor should the expectation be that of an amp that can punch well above its class. For a reasonable amount of volume, a good, clean, dynamic sound and a definite ability to reproduce quality sources with minimal loss of fidelity, than it is a solid choice. The longevity of this device will have to be determined over more time as the plastic structure will need to stand the test of a household with children, however, it appears to be a solid piece of tech. My use of this amplifier for a backyard home theater setup has been more than acceptable and I was a little more surprised at how much I could throw at it versus my expectations. That is a sign of a good value proposition and I am happy to have purchased it. ... show more

  • Amazing but Powerful!
Color: Silver
Just installed this 120W little gem yesterday, and I’m completely blown away by the majestic sound it delivers compared to my previous 2 receivers. So diminutive, but amazing sound quality, super easy pairing, and hook up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

  • Little unit - but really big sound !
Color: Black
This was plug-and-play with our existing hard-wired stereo speakers - and now we can play any digital media we own from a USB drive, or on a micro-SD (TF) card, or by streaming in direct via bluetooth from a laptop, etc. It also has line inputs if you need them for a CD player, record player, etc... Pretty cool ! Photo shows the amp on top of our "vintage" speaker, with a DVD for scale... ... show more

  • Interesting product
Color: PRO Version
Lots of input/output options. Decent power levels and sound quality. USB port was impossible to use because it was too tight. I did return this but that was because it was supposed to be new but came without a box and appeared used.

  • Works well with Echo/Alexa
Color: Black
Reading other reviews I was concerned that there might be issues. I have this in the kitchen driving some in wall/ceiling speakers. I used to have a standard stereo receiver driving them before (25W/channel). The previous receiver definitely could get louder, so the 120W is an extreme exaggeration of the capabilities. However, with the volume on the Douk at 30 (the maximum), I never tell Alexa to go above 8 (out of 10). At 8 it is not rock concert loud, but it is too loud to actually have a conversation. With Alexa at 4, it is possible to have a conversation. I was also concerned about BT connectivity. That has not been a problem. After about 30 days I got the first disconnect. I cycled power on the Douk and Alex immediately transferred back. I don't have any interference from other households. People that have issues with BT might be in areas where there are a lot of other sources of 2.4GHz (like apartments). There are also no annoying voice prompts from the Douk, but Alexa comes through fine. ... show more

  • Started playing music before I hooked it up
Color: Black
People tell me that I am prone to exaggeration when I find a find. The truth is, today I am blown away by this bluetooth connected amplifier which I hooked up to my old speakers. 5 years ago, I unplugged the Bose speakers above my work bench but never could bear the thought of throwing them out. Glad I didn't because today they were brought back to life. In full stereo too! For years I have been listening to Neil Young sing Old Man on a mono bluetooth speaker (shame-shame) but today I heard him in stereo AGAIN for the first time. For a few bucks and a little wire you can too. If you don't have a set of decent quality speakers then go buy a pair and hook them up to the back of this great little amp. ... show more

  • Fun little Amp!
Color: Silver
Pushes my budget (Dayton Audio) bookshelf speakers very well. No distortion until you get to the very top. I don't do much a/v, but this was very easy to set up with everything needed in the box. Product was very well packaged. HOWEVER- the amp is plastic and super light. Make sure it's somewhere where it can't topple over when all of the wires/cables are plugged in. Will update if it does prematurely. ... show more
