I owned a very old and now dirty similar product from one of those multi level marketing out fits. It was fine and still is, it's just a bit old and dirty and I needed something new. This is very nice. I thought I might use it for a cool spot on one level and a hot on the other. I don't recommend this. It's both levels hot or cold. So you have two very nice levels for your casserole sized dish and your second casserole with whatever. I don't recommend mixing hot and cold. One or the other with this product. And still I recommend it. Best, buy two of them, one for your two hot dishes and the other for your cold dishes like salad and your desert. ... show more

We used this to transport a hot 9x13" pan to a potluck and it did a great job keeping the food hot! We put the pan in the bottom compartment and used the upper portion to carry a serving spoon and a few cold beverages that we pulled out of the fridge right before we left. Upon our arrival, the cold beverages were still cold and the hot dish was still hot! Everything felt so secure and the handles on top made it extremely easy to transport everything. My friends and I participate in a lot of pot luck dinners, but a struggle with me is how to transport my hot dishes to help them remain hot by the time I got to their home. I tried an insulated bag from the store, but it didn't stay warm for longer than 20 minutes. I used this for the first time a couple of weeks ago when I transported some hot buffalo chicken dip (a crowd favorite). I was amaze that my dish was still steaming by the time I got to my friend's place 20 minutes later... not warm, HOT. It was easy to wipe down and fit around my casserole dish perfectly.
