    • Excellent screen protector with installation caveats
My previous screen saver was a self healing plastic laminate. It performed as advertised but I was never happy with it and wanted to switch back to glass. Choosing this this the screensaver turned out to be a bonus. My phone responds almost as if I had no screen at all. The clarity, touch response and feel is great. I rescanned my fingerprint and the recognition has also improved. No more tapping around. I rated this 4 stars because my first installation was a disaster. This installation process is more complex than other screen savers. The written instructions are basic and their YouTube video shows a perfect installation. So after my first debacle, I watched other videos which included pitfalls to avoid. Thankfully the kit comes with two screens. My second attempt went without any issues and the result looks professional. You have to look closely to see there is a screen protector on it. These is my observations for avoiding the pitfalls: 1. Installation requires more steps than other brands. Familiarize yourself with each step. It may help to line up everything in order of use before starting. 2. Make absolutely certain the surface you are working on is level. This can have an impact the application of the adhesive. 3. BE PATIENT. I can't emphasize that enough. Resist the temptation to "assist" the process. Be patient. 4. Complete the 15 second curing times before removing it from the tray. Then carefully remove the phone and complete the final curing. From reading the many negative reviews I can understand their frustration/anger. I do believe however the cause for many of their negative reviews was due to falling prey to one of the pitfalls. My first try failed because of #2 on the list. Now after getting a handle on installation, if I need to purchase another screen protector Whitestone will be my first consideration. ... show more

    • A bit of a learning curve to instal but works AMAZINGLY well
I purchased this and I screwed up the installation the first time. My mistake was letting the adhesive flow too far after tipping the jig (below the circle - WATCH THEIR INSTALLATION VIDEO). This caused some of the adhesive fluid to flow off the phone screen at the bottom edge, and so the adhesive did not flow all the way to the top edge of the screen (top edge did not have adhesive under the glass). Fortunately, this product comes with 2 protectors. I corrected my mistake the second time, and it went perfectly. This screen protector is FABULOUS: - NO air bubbles - looks BEAUTIFUL - glass attached firmly - fingerprint reader works really well -- i did not have to re-register finger prints -- I didn't even have to turn on the "extra" touch sensitivity - the glass resists smudging and finger oils I am VERY VERY happy with this system. Yes, it's expensive, but in my opinion totally worth it. At first, I put one of those $15 glass screen protectors on my S21 5G, and it was SO frustrating because the finger print reader was VERY hit or miss. It world work OK a few times, and then fail maybe 5 or 6 times in a row. It failed frequently enough that I saw the "try your bio metric reader again in 30 seconds" message several times a day. I have not seen that message even once since I installed this screen protector. AMEN!! ... show more

    • Combination of difficulty to install, inconsistent materials, and lack of warranty
The product seems like it works well given a perfect storm of proper installation and good luck in receiving quality materials, but if you take a look at reviews for this product (on this and other phones) it is clear that this is relatively rare. One of the main issues I've noticed is that Whitestone does not provide enough of the adhesive in a bottle, and failure to be 100% accurate when pulling the "pin" leads to it not spreading to 100% of the phone. More adhesive in the bottle would fix this issue, as it would provide more leeway. This happened on my first installation -- a combination of not enough adhesive and the glass being slightly bent led to it receiving no adhesive in the bottom third of the phone. Following the instructions by cleaning/reusing the glass with new adhesive led to the exact same lack of adhesive in the exact same spots -- clearly an issue with the glass, and not the technique. The second glass appeared to be installed correctly -- the video I recorded revealed 100% coverage with no issues. After 24 hours, "bubbles" appeared in each of the four sides of the phone. The adhesive clearly was not dispersed enough in these areas. Again, providing more adhesive would probably have solved this. No problem though, right? It says right on this page that there is a "lifetime warranty"! Nope. They charge you full price in "shipping" ($15) to replace a single glass with the same too-small bottle of adhesive. That's not a warranty, that's just selling another product. For a glass screen protector that works with the fingerprint reader, this is the only product available. But the inconsistent and difficult installation paired with stingy materials and lack of any installation warranty results in a strong recommendation to AVOID. ... show more
