I got this for myself, not for a dog. I sunburn easy and when I have to work on a car or anything outside, a normal popup tent is too large most of the time. When you are on the ground, the tall tents don’t really block the sun. I saw this for dogs and had to try it since it looks short. It is too short to be able to sit upright under it, but that doesn’t matter to me. I have to lay on the ground to work under a car or on the side of a car. I can fit fine laying down and have room to space to have tools next to me. I just slide the tent up against the side of the vehicle and then crawl through the tent. It almost completely blocks the sun so I don’t burn. So this works great. I might even get a fan to clip onto it. The poles all have spring loaded tensions so you just pinch the tips and compress them and slide them into the poles. The cover has a slip fit lower part so the long pole slides through it and then you mount it to the other poles. That makes it a tight fit so the cover is not flopping around I the wind. It has round feet and little spikes to help mount it into a yard. I found on blacktop the round feet work very well to keep it stable and not tip. So if you are looking for something that you could use to keep the sun off of you, consider this. It works for me and I don’t even have a dog. I’m sure any dog would be happy with it as well as it is roomy. ... show more

    • Pretty easy to assemble, I recommend 2 people
I got this for our pet pig to have a place to rest out of the direct sunlight. It took about 30 minutes to assemble. Most of the parts had spring-loaded nibs that went into holes in sides of their mated tubes. EXCEPT for the bottom tube. The bottom tube has a clamp with a bolt through the long horizontal tube clamped to the upright. The concept looked like it is supposed to clip into the buttons that protrude from the upright, but this won't catch both sides of it. I think it would be much better if they were to make a T-Tube at the base for this horizontal tube to attach to. I think that it would be much sturdier and easier as you wouldn't need to try and piece together 4 parts along with a bolt and nut into the correct spot. Plus this would be the same technology used to hold the rest of the parts together. Seems kind of weird that they changed the attachment for this bottom tube compared to the rest of the system. Sturdiness - seems kind of rickety until it's fully assembled and secured to the ground - even then, there's a bit of wobble in the entire thing. Our pig was already enjoying it only a few minutes after it was up and pinned to the ground. ... show more

I got this pet tent because there are lots of local feral (catch and release) cats in my area and my neighbors and I are always rigging up stuff to sort of help shelter them in inclement weather. My goal is to put a pallet down and stake the tent over the pallet (to keep the cats off the ground) and after assembling the tent (took me about 15 min...very good and clear instructions!) I can see that this idea is going to work just fine. Not sure about the water proofing yet, but I will be sure to update asap. I will post pictures of the final shelter once completed but in the meantime, I can say that this tent is well made and sturdy and if your looking to use this for your pup as a shade then it is absolutely a great investment! ... show more

This is a modern take on a dog house. It was super easy to set up in about ten minutes. The frame alone is sturdy but when the cover is added there’s no way it’s coming apart. It’s also portable and can be taken down easily and stored or used in another location. My dogs liked it and because they could see all the way through it aren’t afraid to use it. The open ends also ensure the cover gets plenty of air flow which helps keep my dogs cool. The picture I included is of my male standard poodle using it. For reference to the size of the tent he is 72 pounds and 28 inches at the shoulders and he can walk through it or sit under it ithout issue. ... show more

I'm really impressed with this sunshade pet tent! It's become an instant favorite for our family, especially our energetic corgi who seems to enjoy lounging under it every chance he gets. The assembly was straightforward, with clear instructions that were easy to follow—though it did take about 15 minutes to put together. It's not a pop-up tent, so there's no folding it for storage, but once it's assembled, it's incredibly stable, thanks in part to the ground stakes that secure it firmly to the lawn.
