This ski rack doubles as a tool holder in my house, ordered at my husband's request. It requires no assembly other than screwing the back/base into a wall and placing the protruding pieces into slots on that base. Hubby needed a place to hang rakes and shovels in the basement; this rack works perfectly. Oh, and it also holds my daughter's old skis just fine, as well (lol). These are advertised as snowboard racks and I guess they could be used for that, but my purpose was for garage storage of shovels, rakes, brooms, ladders - really anything with a handle or an edge that can be placed over the hook.. They are very heavy duty and feel sturdy - the kit utilizes a track system where the hooks are placed on the track and they moved to the right or left to the exact position you needs. The arms stick out a good 6-8 ", so should be able to put two, maybe three garden implements on each rack. They claim to rated up to 300 lbs, but not sure I would put that much weight on this device without fastening into the stud and not just drywall with an anchor. They do provide wall anchors, however. I figure with 5 larger hooks and 1 smaller hook, I can get 10 shovels or rakes from leaning against the wall and have a bit more walking room in the shed. ... show more

    • Saves floor space, adjustable, multiple uses, easy to install.
I installed this bracket system in my garage to hold some poles my cc skies and some other winter attire and it worked out great for my needs. This is very similar to other bracket/hook systems that are meant for brooms or anything with longer handles that can be hung. I installed this into some plywood on the wall, so I didn't need to use any of the drywall anchors, if you do use these be mindful of the weight that put on the brackets so the whole thing doesn't pull off the wall. This was easy to mount to my wall, took around 15 minutes or so to screw all the rail pieces to the wall making sure they are level and then the brackets just hook right onto the rail and do not fall off. ... show more

There are so many hanging devices on the market, with very different engineering designs and of course that is a good thing. This rack is specifically designed for skis and although I don't own any skis I knew this rack is something I could use for other purposes. I like the way I can either hang the hooks on the rack or use them independently and that is exactly what I did. I drilled some holes into the plates and I was able to install these in my shop to hang heavy objects on them. They are very sturdy and fulfilled my wish to accomplish what I needed them for.
