I purchased these for a trip to Hawaii. I wanted something to protect my feet while we were snorkeling in a cove with lots of rocks and reef. I would not recommend wearing them on a hike or any distance longer than a mile. I think they would cause blisters or irritate your skin. Just using them as water shoes they worked great though! I ordered the 7.5 but they kept sent me a 38 which is only a 7. So I returned and ordered the 7.5 again and they sent the 38 again? Maybe I don’t understand the sizing correctly, but they were slightly tight so I would advise sizing up. Overall good to have on a trip where you’ll be in rocky water or walking on harsh beach terrain. ... show more

These shoes are great! I got a pair to explore the rainforest in Puerto Rico and it handled the trail as easily as the wet rocks by the waterfalls. Also wore them to walk into rocky parts of the ocean with ease. The best part is that they look and feel like regular sneakers. I can wear them without socks all day with no problem and they are comfortable even when I’m on my feet all day. I even wear them on rainy days in lieu of rain boots if it’s warm since they dry so quickly. I took off one star because the plastic part on the laces that tightens them broke pretty quickly. It took a little longer than usual to receive, 2 1/2 weeks. But when I received them, they actually fit true to size, and I really like the color. I haven’t worn them out yet to the beach or on rocks. But hopefully they’ll do the job. I was hoping the soles were a little thicker/studier to withstand river rocks, but the soles seem to be a little thicker than the water shoes I see at large retail stores ... show more

After reading a lot of reviews, I double checked the sizing chart and ended up ordering a 7 (typically I wear size 7.5 flats and 8 tennis shoe). But they do have some stretch so I decided that 7 would be best. The color was fantastic and they fit perfectly. I kayaked, walked along the beach, and even did a 2 mile hike (no blisters)!
