These make the perfect Christmas craft for children. These are a little big to be used as Christmas ornaments, but they are perfect for the mantle or hanging on the wall. Since they are wood you can use a number of drawing/coloring instruments suited for whatever age will be using them. Us adults used acrylic paint pens, while the kids used anything from sharpies to regular markers, even a few tried crayon lol. The prints have such a thin lines, definitely not a young kid friendly craft as I expected. We used the thinnest brush but went over almost every line. Quality of the wood is fine, definitely need to invite my girl friends for adults crafting session.

My kids loved these for a quick and easy craft project. They just used regular makers and colored in the images to give to their teachers. It kept them occupied for awhile on several days. The wood is "unfinished", but was smooth and felt like good quality. Being that it's natural wood, the wood grain pattern varied a little from piece to piece. The images on them were all cleanly done and the details were clear. All of the designs were great (6 designs, 2 of each). Large, well printed on quality wood. It's easy to see the print and the designs are cute. They are actually pretty thick and you get twine to for them as well. It doesn't come with anything to paint/ color them with, but you could use paint, markers, glitter paint or acrylic. I don't think water color would work well. I got these for my early finishers in my high school special education life skills class. I wasn’t sure if they would enjoy them or not. At first they were reluctant and needed some encouragement. Once they got started, they absolutely loved doing them and wanted more. The ornaments were easy to color with markers, acrylic paint markers, and glitter glue.     • Delicate lines that will hide easily under paint/marker

These wooden plaques have very delicate thin lines on the designs. They will cover easily with paint to make the images appear hand painted vs pre-printed. The designs are fairly intricate and will be better for adults or older kids vs young kids.

A great choice if you're like me and looking for a Christmas craft to do with the kids. 12 total ornaments, 6 total designs (two of each design). It's a lighter wood (balsam?), but that shouldn't matter for Christmas ornaments in terms of durability--they just don't get handled too often. The engraved designs are very well done...they provide a clean and clear border for the kids to use. Paint will work fine on these, markers too...we haven't tried crayons, but it would probably be my last choice. ... show more
