I spent about 2 and a half weeks on this. It does come folded so you’ll need to iron out the creases. I ironed, then stretched it out and taped it down flat before weighing it down with 6 large books and leaving it for a day or so. I also painted a clear coat of gesso prior to painting. The paint is thick so I added some water and stirred with a tooth pick. Some of #20 were part of the leaves and didn’t look accurate in black, so I mixed my own darker version of the teal #19 and used that. When I finished I did some touch ups with the darker teal to add stems and leaves where they didn’t show up. I was trying to make it more accurate to the example. I also blended some areas so you may not get the exact same result. The paint does dry pretty fast so be aware of that if you intend to blend. What I like best was the tinted numbers and overall value. The tint helped me to know what I was working on and see it better before putting on the paint. ... show more

... but it's worth it. Plenty of paint left over. Then again I probably should've done a second coat in a bunch of areas, as I did spread it a bit too thin. Got some transparent gesso for the next one to make it a little easier. I can't comment on the brushes they supply because there's no way I would use them. They are too large, in my opinion. And this painting is VERY intricate. Do yourself a favor and get some good 20/0s. I should have ironed out the creases prior to painting, so now I'll have to figure something out to get rid of those. But, these kits are great! ... show more

I didn't notice until I was 90% complete with the blue wolf that there were 3 paint colors incorrectly labeled. Same with the top trees between the wolves, the dark blue and dark purple should have different numbers too. I followed the #s exactly to what the painting called out for. I am disappointed because I was painting this as a birthday gift to my wolf obsessed mother. :( I am disappointed too that a few of the colors will not cover the number assigned below. IE #9, the bright orange, the painting I did has 3 layers and still won't cover the number. The 1, 4 and 10 finally covered after the 3rd layer of paint. ... show more

Based on the reviews I was nervous to get this one, but I’m glad I did! It ironed out nicely and the colors are beautiful! I do a lot of paint by numbers and yes, some have transparent paints but this one did not. These were great covering paints, and it has some very pretty colors.
