This is a nicely detailed miniature house kit/ 3D wooden puzzle. Not For Beginners. Unless you have a very patient 13 year old this would be frustrating for the average 13 year old to do themselves. But a great project with a parent or older sybling. This one is a do a little, and pay attention to details project. Not a quick evening or even an over the weekend project. The final project has a foot print of about 7 inches x 9 inches. The kit comes with everything you need except glue. They aren't being cheap....there are restrictions on glue and like substances for over seas shipping. This kit is made in China. You can purchase craft glue at any craft supply shop or on line. I like Original Tacky Glue the grab and quick dry formula. It allows for easy hold and placing of small items, enough time for exact positioning, and a fast dry time so no proping or holding things together waiting for the glue to sets. Have a few extra nail fils with a pointe tip and a fine side, and tooth picks for placing small amounts of glue is helpful. If you think you might do another one of these save the tools that any of th kits come with. They come in handy. You'll develop favorites to use on all your miniature projects. I like to use rubber cement or museum putty to hold movable objects in place but still allow them to be repositioned if I want. You will also need batteries. The directions are mostly pictures, very little text. DO NOT take all the pieces out of thee cards at once. Take only the ones you need at each step in the process. The numbers indicating the piece are next to the piece on the card, not on the piece. The piece are positioned on the card to minimize waste so items needed may be spread across more than one card. Take your time and enjoy. The finished project is nice to have but the fun and relaxation are in the making of the project. You will want to find or make a plastic display case for this item. It needs to be protected from accumulating pet hair and dust when on display. ... show more

THIS KIT CAME WITH EVERYTHING NEEDED TO ASSEMBLE. TOOK ME ABOUT 22 HRS TO COMPLETE. I'VE ASSEMBLED OVER 30 KITS LIKE THIS AND WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS FOR BEGINNERS UNLESS YOU LIKE INTRICATE OR DETAILED KITS.

This is such a fun kit and a great size! It's definitely NOT for young kids or impatient beginners! There are a LOT of parts/pieces in this. The "instruction" booklet is 22 pages of pictures - very few written directions.. I'd suggest reviewing it a few times and then open ONLY the pieces to the specific part you're going to work on. My kit included everything I need to put it together, even the glue. You will will have to get your own batteries for the lighting, though. There's a lot of detail in this kit, so you can't rush the build. Great fun for families or anyone who likes detailed projects. This is probably best suited for someone who has good fine motor skills, good vision, and/or previous experience with building miniatures. This miniature looks great on my bookshelf among all my books. I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi so I feel this fits the theme pretty well. The model was easy to put together and I am so happy with it!
