The media could not be loaded. This was my third book nook set I’ve built. The cannon and barrels were a pain to build and this set required more glue than I expected. When I tried snapping the last wall on, it kind of exploded the inside because I didn’t have it lined up perfectly so I busted a few parts including the anchor and one of the upper roof supports. The instructions were hard to follow with them being in black and white with not a lot of detail. They also didn’t make the lighting set up fun - was super confused ant some points. And the pieces were extra hard to pop out then other sets I’ve done (at one point, the tool that helps to pop them out snapped). All that being said, I do like the outcome and would only recommend this set to experienced builders. ... show more

    • Interesting mini build
I have done 2 different pirate Book Nook builds and they were fun, interesting and different. It takes some work. Some of the pieces are delicate and need to be removed carefully and also put in carefully, I found opening the slot a bit with tweezers helped get them in without breaking. Some of the pieces are very small. Have glue on hand as somethings are glued but also for repairs. It comes with plastic for the roof opening and the front. I put the roof one on top instead of inside to keep it from getting dust in the roof design crevices. ... show more

I love book nooks, great way to be creative and keep your mind busy. I have dozens of these but I didn’t have this one, very excited to put it together. I like to add personal touches to these, sometimes change the lighting too. You never know which ones will actually contain batteries, glue and tweezers. Make sure you have all of the above on hand and you’ll be ready to go. I ordered all types of batteries so I never get caught flat footed. Highly recommend these if you enjoy doing tiny things and thinking “outside the box!” Haha ... show more

Mosley was easy until you get to the end. I broke a few pieces accidentally because it was hard to put together and the lights were confusing and I feel like a few instructions for that were left out. It was my first one to build so it may have been my fault. I would definitely buy again but it took me about 15 hours to complete. Had a lot of fun making it. I loved that the pieces came out super easy and most snapped together perfectly. I would recommend. ... show more

I have done many of these and there can be challenging moments, but this one tops it. There are errors in the instructions with part number listings. That is managable, but trying to snap together wood peices, which is the entire process, is impossible without breaking peices or taking them apart to make the order of assembly work. I sit and stare at this thing, occasionally begging my gf to put it together for me. One day, I hope to stare into a miniature reality of another world. At a glance, this seems well constructed. Heavy box, no missing pieces. I have lots of tools and gadgets for antique restorations that will help me punch out tiny things and work on small details so I can only assume any complaints others have had can be resolved with less struggle.
