this was my first project like this. Very interesting putting together. I would suggest not popping every piece out before starting and just separating as you go so that you don't loose any parts. Take your time and don't loose your patience with it, it'll look great once put together. If you do break a tab, just superglue it back on and wait till it's dry to continue putting it together. It's easy to break a couple as some of the holes you are pushing them through are a little tight but just go slow, and there are a couple of extra pieces left over (which is especially good if it's one of the ones you broke like a piece for the mailbox lol). ... show more

I very much enjoyed putting this together. It had great directions and was just so much fun. It looks great on my bookshelf. My daughter and husband really want their own now too!

    • Cute, but iffy quality
Don't get me wrong, this kit is very cute once assembled, but I felt it was somewhat subpar quality compared to others on the market. Most of the wood panels were thin and prone to splitting apart and the pieces, especially the very small and delicate ones were very crowded on the boards, leaving me in a constant state of paranoia about breaking them (and I did break a few, but was able to either use other parts of the assembly to hold it together or fix myself) as I popped them out since there weren't any spares for the most vulnerable pieces. I also found myself frequently complaining about the fit of each piece, whether it was a square peg in a round hole, pieces being too loose or too tight, etc. Each step itself was easy to do, but the included assembly diagram sheet was often confusing as it didn't flow well and felt very jumbled and crowded - there were several points where I almost missed steps completely because of the poor directions. The attention to detail in the paint is what honestly redeems this kit in the end, but it also is a hindrance as its often applied so thickly to the wood that the overspray on the pegs that they were hard to fit and required additional sanding. Definitely not a kit for the easily frustrated or inexperienced builder, but with a good deal of patience and a steady hand, you'll be rewarded with a cute little cat-sentric scene that looks quite charming once assembled and on display. ... show more

The overall outcome of this book nook is pretty nice, it’s very cute. The instructions are horrible however, as you can see in the pictures it’s very hard to see what to do and unfortunately not in color to help you out. I have done quite a few book nooks and not sure I would have been able to put this together without that experience. Unlike other ones though there is no glue, which is nice, it all snaps together very tightly, but sometimes a struggle to get parts to snap in. It has a very sophisticated lighting system, I was impressed with that. It runs on AA batteries like most but the components are plug in instead of having to wrap the wires, a much more reliable and easier way to do it. If you want to give it a try expect to need a lot of patience if you have never done anything like this before. ... show more

I love book nooks. They are little vignettes, little sceneries, that are placed on a bookshelf to add a little whimsy to a bookshelf. I have several placed throughout my bookshelves. This one was easy to put together for me because I have put many of these kits together. If you have never done one of these before, it might be a bit challenging. There are a lot of pieces, but they snap together relatively easily. No glue is needed. The instructions aren't too difficult you just have to carefully read every step and pay close attention to the diagrams. This one is a little less complex than others I have bought and also included no extras like glue. The pieces are well printed on the correct margins, the instructions are busy but seem clear when I look through them. This is equal to most of the kits I have gotten that are not luxury kits. I like that it came with a light! I find these a relaxing way to meditate, can't wait to get started. This is also a very giftable kit in a cute box! You will need glue, I buy 3-in-1 glue by Beacon for these kits because it dries fast and doesn't warp the wood. ... show more

The set is so cute. I found these through TikTok, as they're popular right now. This set doesn't have the best instructions so I wouldn't recommend it for a kid, but it's a fun addition to your bookcase.
