I was not expecting much and thought the shelves were over priced. But I did not want to bother assembling all the parts to do it myself so bought this system. Not that you need them but instructions are excellent. Brackets that hold shelves up are excellent and well made. Extra screws and parts just in case you need them. Excellent! Actual shelves are typical particle board with white covering. Packaging for shipment was excellent and no damage to product was noted. Shelves had pre drilled spots for placement of screws but I did not use any of them. No problem screwing into shelves without pre drilling. The screws are very sharp and I used an impact driver very cautiously. In retrospect the shelves are a bit pricey but over all an excellent product! ... show more

They do the job and can be strongly reliable but because it’s not real wood, sometimes the holes came in too loose and screw won’t screw tight. Prepare yourself for that situation. I bought these to setup a plant station for my wife and to put a shelf above her computer. They were really easy to install. All the hardware you need comes with it and is well marked. The instructions are pretty easy to follow, but be aware that all the sizes mentioned when it comes to drilling are in millimeters. To put these up in drywall, it recommends a 6mm hole, which is a little more than a 1/4". So use a 1/4" bit and then wiggle it around to make the whole a touch bigger and the drywall pieces will go in without trouble. I needed a better way to organize my sneakers, so I searched on Amazon for solutions. I looked through endless pages of shoe racks, wall hanging shoe racks, sneaker displays and wall mounted shelves. I finally settled on these because they were 31" long and I needed something to fit on a 34" wall. They're also 8" in depth which was important for my use because my shoes are about 10"-11" in length. Before I installed these, I bought a magnet pop device which tells you where there are nails/screws in the wall (super cheap on Amazon). This means you can locate where the studs are. After finding them and seeing where there were two electrical points of entry in the wall (in the picture you can see one of them), I measured a vertical and horizontal block from those two positions to avoid screwing in the cabinets in those areas. You DO NOT want to screw in 1 and 1/2" screws into areas where there may be pipes or electrical wires, so make sure you mark these areas off before installing! The studs were too close to these electrical points, so I decided to do the drywall only installation away from electrical vertical and horizontal blocks. Note that the instructions provide 3 different versions of installation depending on where you're installing in the wall. Super helpful! I measured 4 times for every hole marked and used a leveler. I used the drywall plastic anchors provided and the packaging even came with gloves! The gloves were really thin but I used them anyway since I didn't have anything else on hand at the moment. Make sure you use gloves while installing as it can reduce getting a bad shock if you accidentally hit an electrical wire. After everything was up and I put my shoes on it, there was no give in the middle! It worked out perfectly for what I needed them for. All I used was a screwdriver, a leveler and a tape measurer. You do not need a mallet and an electric drill like the instructions say. Yes, it will make things faster but you can use the screwdriver if you don't have those items like me. Also, screwing the screws and anchors in by hand has an advantage because if you hit something other than drywall, you will know since it will feel different after a few centimeters. I put mine in just drywall but if you're putting yours in the studs, then you will need a drill. All and all, I am very happy with the end product! With the screws inside of the anchors and no weight give in the middle, I feel very confident in the shelves' longevity. Highly recommend! ... show more
