I used this chain breaker to break the chain on my 80cc motorized bicycle with a chain size of 415. Worked great! Though I had a friend help me because I'm not too experienced with breaking chains. The clamps don't hold the back plate so just be patient as you push the pin out. It will work. I even had to out a link back on the chain, a little tricky but it worked! I tried everything for my bike such as chain tensioners and such. I had a such a long chain I had to break it, I'm still using a chain tensioner for the minor slack. I was a little skeptical of buying it because of the bad reviews but it worked great! ... show more

    • Good product for Med to Light Duty Chain
Good product for light to medium duty chains. I tried to use for a mid sized dirtbike chain and it worked but not as well as I would want.

    • Works to remove the plate, but not to reassemble.
With a little finesse, I was able to push the pins out. I just used a hammer, block of wood and a punch to reassemble. I was amazed how well it worked.

This thing saved me so much time and I'm just amazed at how well it worked and how easy it was to use absolutely amazing I was worried about busting the tip that pushes the pins through but it never budged or chipped at all the several times I used it to adjust my Go cart chain.

    • Excellent tool, especially for the price
The tool handles extremely well and does a flawless job. I was able to reuse a link recently due to a problem with the master link I had in stock. If I had to find anything to complain about I would mention there were no instructions included but an inexperienced person would do fine if they find the right video on You Tube. I would recommend the vendor make a You Tube video and reference the link. ... show more

    • It works and does the job.
I used it to break a chain on a 1987 Honda Fat Cat Motorcycle. It did the job. It did come with a sharpened point, and flattened some pushing the link apart. Still did the job.

Didn't work so well for size 41 roller chain. I was hoping it would easily do what it's supposed to but didn't.
