So far I really like it. It measures accurately and Ames of all metal so you would not be worried about clamping the jaws too tight. If it was plastic that might dent the tips and that might affect accuracy. I used it to measure my guitar strings and the smallest one was 0.09” and it was accurate all the times. This is the third time I've purchased this exact digital caliper because it works so well! I keep one at my 9-5 job, another at my office desk for when I'm using CAD software, and one more out in my workshop. It's consistently reliable and provides precise measurements, which is essential for my work and projects. The build quality is solid, and it has held up well in different environments. My only complaint is that it doesn't have an auto-off function to save battery life (only reason for 4 stars), so you have to remember to turn it off manually. It does the job and It's easy to read. there are some slight irritations: It's not as smooth as higher-priced options. Sometimes I need to jiggle the slideout battery compartment to get it to power up. The locking screw is stiff. The enclosure is bigger and heavier than plastic housing versions.
