I have large dogs that can push under stock fencing, and even chain link (I have an acre in wire stock fencing side on sides/back and high chain link in front). The dig defense product hammers in deeply even in dug areas, does not bend during or after install. To place next to a post set in concrete, I can clip off a few tines with a bolt cutter for a good fit. I then fasten the fence to the steel barriers with zip ties or aluminum fence ties. The first order I installed 5 or 6 yrs ago, installed more a year or two ago. No rust or issues. Great product, heartily recommend by me. ... show more

I purchased a 15 panel pack to defend against raccoons from going under my front porch. The panels are made from heavy gauge steel with solid welds. The panels held up against a 5lb sledge hammer (wood blocker used) pounded into a heavy clay soil. The construction and good materials was worth the extra cost vs. the other products made off-shore. Love the design, ease of installation, and price point. Unfortunately, there are a couple issues. We followed directions for installation, and now after being in the ground for 1 to 2 months, the tops are rusting. The product is advertised as “rustproof.” I purchased 7 boxes of the 15 pack XL and just about every section is rusting, so it’s not like we received one defective box. It makes me wonder when/if the rest of the product will begin to rust potentially resulting in decreased integrity of the barrier, the reason why we bought the product in the first place. Also, not quite as sturdy as advertised. When we hit a root, the product began to bend. See photos. Would be great if these two issues could be fixed as otherwise, I’d give it five stars. ... show more

These things are built like a tank. I installed around my deck to discourage a ground hog. Used a big hammer and they went right in. My challenge was installing through rock that surrounds the deck. Just had to clear it and voila!

This works and it's so simple. Now all the damage is on the dog owner's side of the fence where it rightfully belongs. The dog is a small pit bull so a pretty strong dog, but the dig defense is deep enough she has just continued to dig a cave in her owner's yard and has made no progress getting into mine anymore. Excellent product that does exactly what it claims. My neighbor would not do anything to permanently fix the problem so well worth the money in my view. No regrets on this purchase. ... show more

I have fought many battles with groundhogs in my backyard! I think I finally won the war. I I called Orkin to install dig defense around my shed and my new raised garden. Paid Orkin to put the dig defense around the shed because it’s all gravel and too hard for me. But the representative suggested I put in the dig defense myself around the raised garden, because he would charge me $1200 for it. So I bought $250 worth of dig defense and I just put them in! A 64-year-old lady installed them herself within 45 minutes, 16 2-foot panels. It had rained a lot last week so the ground was very soft. It’s amazing and I am very pleased. Saved myself almost $1000. And hopefully the groundhogs will find their homes elsewhere. 5 stars. ... show more
