We bought this book for our 9 year-old, and she finds it stimulating and entertaining. It's fun when parents or other adults play along and read them to each other. Some of the riddles are very well-known and borderline cliché, to the extent that even a relatively intelligent 8 year-old might have heard them before. That's about 10-15% of the book. Additionally, some of the riddles/brain-teasers don't have logical solutions, but overall it's a fun and stimulating book for the 8-10 year-old range. My grandsons (8 &11) and I spent the last Christmas week challenging each other with the riddles and puzzles in this book. Last Arizona Christmas it rained every day for 7 days. This book filled those dismal days so nicely.
