  • Makes me wonder how I ever enjoyed my Quest2 without it!
Color: with battery
First, like the headline says, it makes me wonder how I even enjoyed playing with my Quest2 without it. The stock strap that comes installed on a new Quest2 does its job, but that's about it. It's uncomfortable, and even when adjusted properly, it still puts a ridiculous amount of strain on the forehead and especially the cheekbones. It puts a lot of weight on the face and will actually pull your eyelids down at times, hindering your eyes from blinking properly. I also found it to irritate the back of the top of my ears, so I started having to tuck my ears underneath that part of the strap instead. That being said, the padding on the back of the Destek QH2 (with or without the battery) is extremely comfortable, and adjusts with just a subtle couple clicks of the back knob. Once it's set to your liking, you don't even really need to loosen it and readjust it the next time. I just keep it at the same setting, place my face against the device, and then slide the back pad down over the back of my head until it's in its normal spot. Same goes for the top strap. You MAY adjust it a tiny bit for top of the head vs forehead, but I generally keep mine the same regardless of the position. I find top of the head is best for stability, for movement heavy games, and the headset rarely even budges during gameplay. I use my Quest2 daily for "Thrill of the Fight" boxing and "Beat Saber" for some regular exercise, both of which can wear you out easily if you're playing them correctly. Forehead strap position seems best for sitting games and experiences, like watching movies/youtube/browsing, or fishing with "Bait!", or even "Angry Birds", or any other stationary experience. It pulls some of the pressure off your face, allowing you to loosen the tightness of the back pad and still be able to have a great viewing experience. Also, if you're using your Quest2 for movement heavy games, I extremely recommend getting some rubber grips, preferably with a snug hand-strap (I bought the black Kiwi ones with the battery cover and knuckle straps), and they're absolutely amazing and definitely help your grip on the controllers. The headphones work very well, and they seem to snap back into place well with the buttons and coil mechanism inside, but the wires are a little thin, so as long as you're not aggressive with them or yanking them out hard, they should serve your purpose just fine. They eliminate the need to buy or use other dedicated headphones. Most of the time I just use the standard devices speakers, but if I'm trying to be quiet, the headphones definitely work. Now, the battery. It seems to operate just like any other external battery. The Destek QH2 strap comes with the cord to connect the battery to the headset, and even has a little rubber band on that side of the strap to slide the cord through so it doesn't flap around. Since I kind of have a smaller head, the cord is a tiny bit too long, so I just created a small loop in the cord, and passed it through the rubber band twice so it's still the perfect length. It has a very easy-to-understand battery level concept. there are 4 little lights that will display the current battery level, and a little button that can show you current level as well as stop providing power or turn off with a simple double press. The instructions say you can leave the battery connected and it will prioritize charging the headset before refilling the battery, but I prefer to charge them separately for the sake of principle and overall battery longevity. However, I have already left it connected and charged it strictly from the back port, and it does do what it's supposed to, the way it says it's supposed to. I generally run my headset till it gives me the low battery power warning, then plug it in for some extra time. I haven't completely expended the batteries full capacity yet, but have gotten at least another solid hour out of using the headset and pretty sure I could get another hour out of it easily. By the time I'm finished playing my games or whatever after that extra hour, my headset is charged back up to at least 35% and the battery pack still has roughly half capacity left. Sometimes after I shut down my headset, I let the battery pack expend itself in charging the headset to properly cycle the battery for optimal battery life in the long run. It's never a good idea to recharge any device regularly at half capacity. You generally just lower the overall life expectancy of the battery and weaken its capacity. As always, as with any battery powered device, make sure you fully charge the battery pack when you first take it out of the box to start the battery life off properly. The strap itself is super easy to install, just pull the original stock strap off at the little tab just past the speakers on the headset. If you feel a little hesitant of pulling too hard and possibly breaking something, there's actually a Youtube video I watched that just addresses how to remove the stock strap just to confirm I wasn't going to break anything, so don't worry about damaging your device. It's extremely simple. Then you just slide the headset earpieces into the proper side of the Destek QH2 straps until they reach the end, and that's literally it! All you do from there is adjust the back pad and top head strap knobs until it feels comfortable, and you're good to go! The Destek QH2 also comes with a little card with a QR code to scan for a full 2-Year manufacturer warranty so you don't have to worry about buying Amazon's extra warranty at checkout. I haven't had to file any claims or anything, but I've used LOTS of different Destek products and reviews always rave about how good their customer service is. Not to mention, after registering your device for the warranty, it gives you an opportunity to leave a review for a $20 Amazon credit, which ultimately is like an instant rebate off the cost of the strap to begin with! All in all, Destek knocked it out of the park with this one, and I absolutely love using my Quest2 more than I ever did, and can feel comfortable for much longer periods at a time. It's well worth the minor investment! ... show more

  • Wow. It does it all.
Color: with Battery + Data Passthrough
Pros: 1. Great packing, very secure and nice, this is top notch. Professional enough to be mistaken for 1st party accessories. 2. Comfortable. Great design. I am so used to the headset needing to be so tight to my head to be secure it almost feels like this isn't on. But it holds. And I can play a lot longer comfortably. 3. Sound is great. Loud, I don't need the headset maxed to heat clear. Retractable pieces are awesome too. And the tips included will fit anyone. 5 options in 2 designs. I finally can keep buds in my ears. 4. Construction is solid. Materials feel good and quality. 5. Battery life is great. And it is very nice to be able to keep it plugged in and linked to my pc. I mod beat saber and loading songs and updates and testing new maps I am making is so much easier keeping it connected and only using 1 cable. Cons: I hate using my friend's headset now. All in all, at half the price of the official elite strap, its better comfort, battery life, includes sound and data pass through. Win. ... show more

  • At first a 5 star item! Quickly changed
Color: with battery
First let me say when the product is as it should be it was perfect. My neck pain decreased big time (I workout in the head set and this was an issue with the factory head strap). Also the battery pack is amazing, works as described to extend battery life. The weight isn't a big deal because it was well balanced. However, within 6 months of using the product the adjustable sides became uneven, it had gotten worse over the past 3 months. My neck and back pain is back. And I wanted to contact the seller to ask about a repair or a new head piece and I can't find any links to contact the seller. One day after posting the above review seller contacted me and offered a replacement, days later it has come in the mail. Great response time, I hope this one stays even so I can use it for a long time to come! ... show more

  • Best headband money can buy!
Color: with Battery + Data Passthrough
Wow at the quality! Feels amazing to wear! Played beat saber for 2 hours and forgot it was on! There’s plenty of adjustment for headband. Battery life is pretty good and link cable is thick and robust. If you told me it was a oculus branded head band I wouldn’t think twice!

  • Great add on, but doesn’t fit a normal oculus case.
Color: with battery
This thing is amazing and super comfortable. Heck we bought two of them. My only issue is that due to its bulky size my case will not accommodate it. The earbuds are very poor quality. The only think they have going for them over the built in quest sound is the bass. Other than bass the sound quality is far below that of the built in speakers. Overall a great product. ... show more

  • Best head strap to date!
Color: with battery
Update: the battery life is great. I haven't come near to getting a low battery alert in my headset, even after a solid two hours of playing Drop Dead The Cabin. I hear no difference in sound quality between over the ear headphones and the included earbuds. Buds are comfortable and sound fine in games. I absolutely love the head strap. My only comment would be that if a user pulls it outward to extend instead of turning the knob, the front connector can slide out. Operator error, not a design flaw. So, users, use the back knob to loosen. Original review - Arrived next day after ordering on Amazon. Packaging is professional and eye catching. I appreciate the many ear bud covers. Instructions simple and very easy to install. I haven't used it yet for play, but tried it on. Was very easy to adjust to a snug and comfortable fit. Not having pressure on my face was the first noticeable difference from the Frankenquest I've been using. I may miss the over the ear headphones from the Frankenquest, but time will tell. So far, my first impression is good. Great build quality and design. ... show more

  • Amazing buy
Color: with Battery + Data Passthrough
This is a great head support for the oculus…takes so much pressure off the front part of your face. Battery last a pretty long time. Highly recommend
