  • Great OEM replacement
After owning an auto repair shop there are a few things I wont buy aftermarket, and coils is on of those things. Always happy with Denso products

  • Gotta keep my Honda running...
These are the same exact ones you get from the dealer st a fraction of the cost delivered straight to your door. They're perfect... can't complain and when you swap these out with the with the spark plug wires your car is going to run like new.

  • Have not tried these or used them just purchased and noticed revamped part/new part #
These are not the same denso coil packs as the originals, they must have just “revamped” them and the new part number and description is not updated on in description. Therefore these are now returns as I’m looking for the original denso part.

  • Completely worth it (OEM Part) 2005 Honda Civic Dx
Ok first off, I'd like to say that I have been to 3 different Mechanics about a random/multiple misfire engine code (P0302). No mechanic could figure out the problem. Then I came across a mechanic who recommended that I change the spark plugs and the ignition coils because I had put Bosch parts into it. I had no idea that it mattered what type of brand that goes into these Honda engines because I'm not a Honda guy. I Changed both ignition coils and spark plugs to the OEM recommendation which is the brand Denso. These coils made a huge difference. I now have a good car that gets me back and forh to work. There is absolutely no misfires anymore and I am honestly surprised because I've purchase 2 other sets of ignition coils 1 set came off of Amazon and they weren't cheap. And the other one came off of 1Aauto which also wasn't cheap. I was hesitant to buy these at first but they are completely worth it! I am so glad I have a reliable vehicle now. Guys, if you have a misfire in your Honda Civic and don't have the OEM coils in there, try these out! They work! ... show more

  • You might like to purchase this OEM part when you can find non-OEM parts at half the price.
I am replacing all 4 coils of my Honda 2002 GX NGV (30520PVJA01) OEM Part Number 09G16J PVJ DENSO 099700-114. I have in the past purchased non-OEM parts for this automobile and I would like to share what I have learned. The OEM part will not have the same life in the natural gas engine as you get in a gasoline fueled engine for the following reasons explained by a shop manager of a place that works on the Honda GX. The natural gas engine head runs hot and this heat causes the coil to break down. The plastic on the coil will oxidize and turn dull over time in relationship to the breakdown of the plastic as an insulator. At some point cracks will develop in the insulator and then the coil will spark to the wall and begin to misfire randomly. The coil that is old and breaking down begins to change resistance and break down when it is hot. So an oxidized coil without cracks can fail under load as without a visible indicator like cracks. You can’t easily check the resistance of the hot coil only the removed coil. This resistance and failure will often not be apparent when it is cold. I have known that the coil was a week part of the Honda, and decided tor the last 40,000 that the non-OEM part at half the price could not be worse than the OEM part. This has proven to be untrue. The non-OEM parts probably use a poorer plastic and less quality control of the winding. As bad as the OEM part is they are better than the non-OEM in the GX and NGV. I am confused why the model number for this part is 099700-114 and I get Part Number 673-2302. This part goes in many Honda 1.7 liter engines. Delivery was quick and good. The part is very clearly marked DENSO on the top of the Coil. The last OEM part I had was stamped only on the bottom and it was not obvious that it was the correct manufacturer. Some internet sellers claim to be OEM but they do not state the manufacturer. This is a part that costs about twice what the non-OEM part costs. I’m expecting value from it, like two to three times the life of the non-OEM part. Make sure that you verify the year, engine size, make, and model in ordering a coil. It is easy to get an incorrect size on the initial search. The Amazon part is about one half of the cost at the local Honda dealer. It is an easy job for the novice mechanic; you don’t want to pay the retail price and labor for this repair. You need to be able to inspect your part for cracks and oxidation. You can afford to buy a code reader machine to read and clear the engine codes. It will pay for itself on the first coil replacement. It is hard to keep the engine coolant level properly level in the NGV. Even though the car temperature light is not unusual, you may still be running higher than normal temperatures at the head and reducing the life of your coils. There is a relationship between bad radiator maintenance and coil failure. ... show more

  • Buy these for your 2005 Civic LX
Buying auto parts off Amazon is always hit and miss for me.I bought the cheap $45 dollar coils off here and they only lasted a little over a year causing misfires.I didn’t want to pay the crazy dealer prices for the oem coils and again went to Amazon looking for a better price. So far these seem to be the same quality as the originals actually coming in a Denzo box and saying made in the USA and it got rid of my misfires.I’ll update in a year if any issues. One thing I’m not sure why but the Honda dealer gives you a different part number for this item even though on the Denzo site it says this is the correct part number. All in all so far I recommend these coils. ... show more
