  • Great Receiver ARV-5670H
This receiver is replacing my 15 year old Pioneer surround sound receiver. This is a game changer, the sound is great. It has also unleashed the ability of our new TV. The old pioneer was just outdated. I bought this from Amazon as used for $319. I believe it had never even opened. Brand new in the box and everything was there ... show more

  • Incredible surround sound
I bought this to replace my 5-year old Yamaha RX-V485 because it seemed like it wasn’t providing optimal video and audio output. My setup is an Apple TV 4K box, Denon AVR S670H, a Samsung TV QN65Q70RAFX, and Definitive 5.1 surround sound speakers. I’m blown away by this Denon unit for its super easy multi step-by-step on screen setup; incredible surround sound; and great video quality. At the conclusion of the setup procedure, the entire entertainment system was ready-to-go without any further adjustment. I control my entire system with just the Apple TV remote. Game changer! ... show more

  • Denon AVR-S670H is a seamless blend of power, precision, and technology.
The Denon AVR-S670H has been a solid upgrade for my home setup. It’s got great sound, and for the most part, it’s been easy to use. After spending some time with it, though, there are a few things that could definitely be better. Setting it up was pretty simple. The on-screen guide helps, and it didn’t take long to get everything connected. Streaming music has been a breeze, especially with Spotify and TIDAL. It also works well with our Google Home system, so I can adjust the volume or switch inputs with voice commands, which is convenient. One thing I like is the customization options. You can rename inputs and adjust speaker settings pretty easily. It gives you control over how things are set up, and that’s a nice bonus. But, there are a few downsides. To get the most out of the receiver, you have to connect it to your TV through an ARC (Audio Return Channel) setup. If your TV is older and doesn’t have ARC, you’re going to lose out on some features, like running your TV’s audio through the receiver. It’s a bit annoying if you’re not ready to replace your TV. Another issue is that everything has to be done through the remote and the TV screen. Want to adjust the equalizer or set radio presets? You’ll need the remote and TV for that. There’s no option to do these things directly on the receiver, which is inconvenient for quick changes. There’s also a pretty limited number of outputs. You’ve got an HDMI output for your TV and one RCA output, but that’s it. If you’re looking to connect other devices, you might be out of luck. One thing that’s been especially frustrating: I haven’t found a way to play audio from the receiver over my Google Home speakers. I’d love to listen to a vinyl record and have it play throughout the house, but so far, I haven’t been able to make that work. It’s a bit of a letdown if you’re hoping for whole-home audio. Overall, the Denon AVR-S670H sounds great and works well for streaming music and movies. It’s been reliable, but if you’ve got an older TV or want more flexibility with controls and outputs, you might run into a few headaches. ... show more

  • I’m very satisfied
So this is me coming from an old Marantz. I’ve had nothing but issues from it and had it handed down to me, long story short I’ve been due in for an upgrade. That’s where this Denon came in! My Denon arrived on a day of which it’s 15 degrees outside, yay winter. Time to isolate myself with my new receiver. You have no idea how long I’ve been looking to upgrade Now into the meat and potatoes. I hope you stayed this far. Cause you might miss the casserole. All I will say is so far this unit works flawlessly. Heat is very minimal, definitely easy to understand, and I’m very happy about the stickers they provide to help cable manage your wires. I’ve had no issues with the picture quality with the pass though on the hdmi, and the control options they offer on the receiver are good as well. I also think for the money your spending it’s worth it if your retiring your unit. Getting rid of my old one and getting this new Denon brought my setup back to life! ... show more

  • Bluetooth Nightmares
Purchased to replace aging Yamaha. When first ran it, setup was a breeze. eARC worked perfectly. The sound coming out of my Miller/Kreisels was magnificent. And the Bluetooth SUCKs. It will connect. Not connect. I have been fighting this for a month. Purchased 3 BT headphones to see if that was the issue. Nawp. Confirmed after MUCH testing and MUCH burned time, it is the unit. Countless Factory resets to get it working again. Yes, am well aware of the HEOS function. That if HEOS is selected, BT will not work. One of the problems is this is NOT clear. There is no clear function to reset BT, get it off of HEOS, clear the memory, whatever. Once it gets locked up, it is locked up. And no amount of fussing short of Factory Reset will solve it. Which I have had to do about every 4 days. Am returning. I can’t keep fighting this. And Denon support… forget it. If I had even an inkling that they KNEW this was a problem and that they were working on the problem and would be releasing software updates, I’d be down with it. But forget it. • Love it!
This receiver is very easy to set-up and the sound is great. Also easy to hook to TV ARC HDMI for one remote control of both units. The only thing I would add is an IR control out (the earlier Denon series had that).

  • Good for digital, Bad for Record Players
Purchased the Receiver to play physical media (LPs and CDs) and of course digital music. Haven't bought the CD player yet, but it works fantastic with digital channels, and Bluetooth. Sound is limited for the record player. Volume starts at 50 and tops off at 80. Called Denon, and this seems to be built into the firmware and unchangeable. Not sure why the volume setting can't go up to 100 like it can for digital. Not that I am blasting music, but the volume difference is noted enough for me to knock down the rating to 3 stars. Just getting into a receiver and passive speaker system. Hope I have no problems when the CD player comes along. ... show more
